국내 숲 관련 연구 동향

국문 초록

이 연구에서는 2012년부터 2021년 1월 현재까지 한국연구재단의 등재지 및 등재후보지에 게재된 연구 중, 숲을 치유, 체험, 교육 등의 주요 매개체로 삼은 109편의 연구에 대한 경향 및 특징을 분석하였다. 주요 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 숲 관련 연구는 2012년부터 해마다 증감을 나타내다가 2015년부터 대폭 증가하였고, 2019년에 가장 많이 이루어졌다. 둘째, 숲 관련 연구들은 산림 및 휴양, 발달, 교육 등을 다루는 학술지에 주로 발표되었지만, 다양한 분야의 학술지에서 비교적 고르게 다루어지고 있었다. 셋째, 숲 관련 연구의 관점은 주로 치유와 체험을 위한 목적에서 수행되었고 그 비율은 90%에 육박했으며, 소수의 연구만이 교육의 목적으로 수행되었다. 넷째, 숲 관련 연구 대상은 대학생 및 성인 대상의 연구가 40%에 달했고, 영유아를 대상으로 한 연구가 그 뒤를 이었다. 다섯째, 숲 관련 연구에서 숲의 효과의 검증할 때 절반에 가까운 연구가 심리·정서적 측면을 다루고 있었다. 여섯째, 숲 관련 연구에서 사용한 연구 방법에 대한 분석 결과 양적연구가 90%에 달했으며, 그 중에서도 실험 연구가 약 60%에 달했다. 마지막으로 연구 주제에 대한 분석 결과, 약 70%가 상회하는 연구가 프로그램 개발 및 그 효과를 검증하는 유형에 속하였다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 우리나라 숲 치유, 체험 관련 연구의 향후 방향에 대해 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This study analyzed the trends and characteristics of 109 research papers in which a forest was considered as the medium of healing, experience and education among research papers registered and listed as a candidate in the National Research Foundation of Korea from 2012 to January 2021. The key results are as follows. First, the number of forest-related research fluctuated each year from 2012, but significantly increased from 2015, showing the highest rate in 2019. Second, forest-related studies were released largely in academic journals regarding forest and recreation, development and education, but were also covered comprehensively in the journals for various sectors. Third, the major purpose of forest-related research included healing and experience, and its rate accounted for nearly 90%, while only a few research was conducted for education. Fourth, forest-related research for college students and adults accounted for 40%, followed by research for infants and young children. Fifth, almost half of forest-related research covered psychological and emotional aspects in verifying the effect of forest. Sixth, analysis for research methods in forest-related studies showed that about 90% were qualitative research; among them, approximately 60% were experimental research. Lastly, according to the analysis of research themes, the majority of studies, which exceeded 70%, were included in the type of program development and verification of effect. Based on these results, the future direction of research for forest therapy and experience in Korea was discussed.
