국문 초록

본 논문의 목적은 시리아 난민 사태로 악화된 프랑스사회가 2015년 11월 13일 파리테러 이후 어떠한 반응을 보였는지를 살펴본 후, 그 파리 테러의 배경을 실제적/역사적 맥락 하에서 고찰하는 데 있다. 프랑스 사회는 시리아 난민 사태에 대해 부정적인 여론을 보여 왔는데, 이는 反이민, 反유럽통합을 강조하는 극우정파 민족전선의 인기에서도 충분히 가늠할 수 있으며, 광역단체장 선거를 앞두고 우파정당 및 사회당 정부 또한 이러한 정서에 편승하고 있음을 숙지할 수 있다. 집권 사회당 정부가 제출한 비상사태 법안과 이중국적자의 국적박탈을 위한 헌법 수정에 정당을 불문하고 과반수 이상의 의원들이 찬성한 것은 바로 이러한 분위기를 대변한다고 할 수 있을 것이다. 하지만 프랑스의 이러한 대응을 이해하기에 앞서 우리는 이 테러가 왜 프랑스에서 일어나게 되었는지 그 배경을 다양한 측면에서 살펴볼 필요가 있다. 2005년을 전후로 한 프랑스 무슬림 2-3세들의 사회적 컨텍스트를 이해하는 것도 중요하지만, 한편으로는 알제리와의 역사적 관계 및 알제리 전쟁에 대한 기억을 이해하는 것이 무엇보다 중요하다는 것이 필자의 생각이다. 이런 분석의 바탕 위에서 우리는 왜 프랑스의 무슬림들이 파리 테러의 협조자가 되었는지 이해할 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

The aim of this article is to examine possible reasons for the Paris terror attacks, which are related to the Muslim immigrants residing within France. It seems very important to know that most terrorist attacks recently occurred in France were committed by ‘third generation’ of Algerian immigrants(Jihad 3G). The reason why some of them became the terrorists is strongly related to the ‘unresolved Algerian war.’ It’s one of the factors of the Paris terror attacks. Most far right extremists haven’t recognized the independence of Algeria from France in 1962 and they still consider Algerian immigrants as colonist. As the National Front, far right wing of France, became more popular, the discrimination against the immigrants has become increasingly severe. For another factor for the Paris terror attacks is the radicalization of young Muslims. In the short term, the year 2005 is the symbol of this radicalization. In 2005, there were several incidents concerning radicalized young Muslims. Abu Musab al-Suri who was considered by many as the most articulate exponent of the modern jihad and its most sophisticated strategies wrote the 1600-page book which appeared on the Internet in January 2005. You Tube, which enables the Jihadists to share strategies across the world, was founded in May of 2005, and the civil unrest in French suburbs during November 2005 etc. Since this year, young French Muslims became drastically radicalized. In response to the attacks, the French government have proposed laws in regard to the state of emergency and has put forward legislation for revoking citizenship of dual nationals. These laws are related to the discrimination and racism towards the Algerian immigrants which are associated with the aftermath of the Algerian war.
