국문 초록

본 연구는 특수학교에 재학 중인 장애학생의 여가활용 교육과정 운영 실태와 이에 대한 특수교사의 인식을 조사하여 향후 기본교육과정 여가활용 교과의 효율적인 운영 및 체계적인 여가활용 교육의 방향성을 제시하며, 실제적인 교수-학습활동 모색을 위한 기초자료를 제시하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 경기, 경남, 강원, 부산지역 소재의 특수학교에 근무하는 초, 중등 특수교사(N=226)를 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 여가활용 교육과정의 운영 실태를 검토한 결과, 교육대상이 되는 학생의 장애유형은 정신지체가 가장 많았고, 장애의 정도는 중등도가 대다수를 차지하고 있었다. 여가활용 교육과정의 운영은 학교 및 학급 교육과정 차원에서 실시되고 있었고 주로 창의적 체험활동시간을 통하여 이루어지고 있었으며, 여가활동의 유형 중에서 가장 많이 실시되고 있는 것은 감상활동으로 나타났다. 둘째, 여가활용 교육과정에 대한 특수교사의 인식에서 교사들은 통합지도를 가장 선호하였고, 여가활용 교육의 실시에 있어서 가장 큰 방해요인으로는 편의시설 및 장소부족이라고 인식하였으며, 여가활용 교육은 장애학생들이 행복한 삶을 영위하는데 도움을 주며, 스트레스 해소에 도움이 되는 것으로 인식하고 있었다. 여가활용교육이 기본교육과정의 선택교과로 채택되는 것에 대해서는 대부분 찬성의 의견을 나타냈으며, 여가활용 교과의 궁극적인 성격은 건강유지와 정서함양이라고 인식하는 경우가 많았다. 이상의 결과를 바탕으로 장애학생의 여가활용 교육과정에 대한 현장의 요구와 시사점을 도출함으로써 향후 장애학생의 여가활용 교육과정 운영을 위한 제언을 행하였다.

영문 초록

The purposes of study was to suggest effective and systematic management of leisure studies curricula in special education by surveying the status of leisure activities for students with disabilities and the preception of teachers in special education in Korea. The subjects were 226 teachers in special education who were working in Pusan, kyeongsangnam-do, Gangwon and Kyounggi-do. First, the results revealed that students identified as having mental retardation was 63.9 % (605) of total students. In terms of the severity of disability, students with moderate disabilities was more than students with severe disabilities and students with mild disabilities. Leisure activities were included in creative activities of school or class curriculum. Appreciative activities (listening music,watching movies etc.) were revealed as the highest proportion among other leisure activities. Teachers in special education highlighted the need of creative experimental learning for students with disabilities. Second, respect to the perception of teachers, teachers in special education suggested the need of inclusive leisure activity for students with disabilities. Lack of proper facilities was the major issue in leisure activities for students with disabilities. Teachers thought that leisure activities help them enjoy their lives,relieve students stress. They agreed on the fact that leisure activities should be adapted as curriculum because leisure study would contribute to enhance the mental health of students with disabilities. The results and discussions were to be used as a fundamental resource for developing leisure curricula and teaching leisure activities for students with disabilities in the future.
