국문 초록

본 연구는 라픽 샤미의 문학을 수식하는 다양한 말들 즉, 이민문학, 이민자문학, 외국인 노동자문학, 독일어를 모국어로 하지 않는 이들의 문학, 소수자 문학, 다문화 독일문학 등, 왜 문학이라는 단어 앞에 그렇게도 많은 수식어가 붙어야 하는지에 대한 물음에서 출발한다. 글로벌 다문화 시대에 독일에서는 모국어가 독일어는 아니지만 독일어로 글을 쓰고 있는 작가들이 많이 있다. 이러한 작가들의 문학이 특별한 이유는 그들이 보여주고 있는 언어의 유희 혹은 독일어를 모국어로 사용하는 작가들이 가질 수 없는 언어적 실험을 통해 독일어를 나아가 독일문학의 지평을 확장해 주기 때문이다. 본고에서는 독일문학의 한 범주로서 독일어를 모국어로 하지 않는 작가들의 문학과 작가 라픽 샤미의 문학 및 그에게 있어서 고향과 망명 그리고 과연 모국어란 무엇인가에 대한 단상을 토대로 현대사회에서 모국어가 아닌 소위, 제 2의 모국어로 글을 쓰는 것의 의미를 한번 고찰해 보고자한다.

영문 초록

There are various words that refer to the literature of writers who do not speak German as their first language: Migrant Literature, Immigration Literature, Foreign Workers Literature, Literature of Non-German Languages, Minority Literature, and Multicultural German Literature. This study starts with the question of why so many modifiers should be added in front of the word literature. This study deals with the literature of writers who do not speak German as a category of German Literature. Among them, I would like to deal with the writer Rafik Shami. Schami war born in Damascus in 1946, and came to Germany in 1971 to study chemistry in Heidelberg, when he was twenty five years old. Today he is the most successful german speaking arabic writer. His novels have been translated into 28 languages. For his literary work Rafik Schami has been awarded with numerous prizes, like the Chamisso Prize and the Hermann Hesse Prize etc.. Shami left his hometown Damascus for political reasons. He discovers the possibilities of his writing through his second native language, German. I would like to examine Shami s literature, his hometown, asylum, and what the second mother tongue means to him. In addition, this study examines the meaning of writing in a second mother tongue, not a mother tongue, in modern society. Rafik Schami is passionate about storytelling. His repertoire includes pretty much everything other than traditional book readings. When he gets on the stage he speaks freely for what he calls “story time”. This study will find the meaning of writing in a foreign language. The literature of writers who write unfamiliar languages in the global multicultural era is special. They expand the horizon of German through linguistic play and linguistic experiments that German-speaking writers cannot have, and further expand the horizon of German Literature.
