국문 초록

흔히 강자(big dog)가 약자(small dog)을 위협한다. 하지만 약자가 강자를 위협하는 경우가 있다. 본연구는 약자의 전략들을 분석해 경영전략에 시사점을 제공하고자 한다. Lee (2018)은 제갈량과 조조와의 대결로부터 Feint 균형이라는 새로운 균형개념을 제시한바 있는데 그 논문에선 강자의 행태적특성이 균형 결정에 중요한 역할을 하였다. 본 논문에서는 약자의 행태적 특성이 균형결정에 보다중요한 역할을 하게 됨을 보여준다. 즉, 강자가 약자의 행태적 특성에 대한 정보가 없을 때 약자가왜곡된 시그널(signal)을 보내게 되면 강자는 그 대립을 통해 자신이 얻을 수 있는 보수가 불확실해지는것으로 여겨 협상력이 약화될 수 있다. 약자는 강자를 이런 상황으로 몰아가기 때문에 약자가 오히려강자를 위협하는 상황이 나타나게 되는 것이다. 본 눈문은 행태적 게임 이론에 기여하고자 한다.

영문 초록

Usually, a big dog threatens a small dog. However, it happens that a small dog threatens a big dog. How can it happen? This study aims to provide new implication of strategic management by examining strategic choices of the small dog. Lee (2018) founded a new equilibrium concept (Feint equilibrium) from the legend of the Chinese strategists, Zhuge and Cao and showed that behavioral type of the big dog plays an importantrole in determining the equilibrium. This paper highlights that behavioral type of the small dog plays an important role. Simply, the unexpected behavior of the small dog can threaten the big dog. That is, the small dog keeps sending messages to the big dog in unexpected manner, the big dog becomes less sure about the expected payoff that he can achieve from the confrontation. Thus, the big dog is inclined to avoid the uncertainty. Then, the small dog can have advantage of negotiating with the big dog. This paper can contribute to behavioral game theory.
