청소년 흡연행동에 대한 사회환경의 차별적 영향력 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 한국아동·청소년 패널조사자료 및 행정구별 인구통계자료를 활용하여청소년 흡연행동에 미치는 사회구조적 특성의 차별적 영향력을 분석하였다. 사회적특성의 청소년 비행에 대한 영향력을 분석한 기존 국내 연구의 대부분은 청소년이주관적으로 인식하는 사회적 특성의 영향력에 관한 연구로서, ‘객관적 지표로 측정된’ 사회적 특성의 영향력을 분석한 연구는 미흡하다. 이에, 본 연구는 이혼율, 인구이동률, 외국인 비율로 사회해체 정도를 측정하고, 이러한 사회구조적 특성의 청소년 흡연경험에 대한 차별적 영향력을 분석하였다. 특히, 사회해체 정도에 따라 연구대상지역을 세 지역(상위, 중위, 하위)으로 구분하고, 패널자료의 종단적 특성, 종속변수의 이산적 특성 등을 고려할 수 있는 종단적 다층 로지스틱 모형을 적용하여분석을 시행하였다. 그 결과, 사회해체 정도가 높은 지역에 거주하는 청소년의 흡연경험은 시간 경과, 규칙저항성, 부모방임, 또래비행, 부정적 사회인식과 정적 상관관계를 나타냄을 추정하였다. 반면, 사회해체 정도가 낮은 지역에 거주하는 청소년의 흡연경험은 규칙저항성과 또래비행과 정적 상관관계를 나타냄을 확인하였다. 이러한 사회구조적 특성에 따른 차별적 영향력을 토대로, 본 연구는 청소년 비행에 관한 정책을 마련함에 있어 단순히 청소년의 특성만을 고려하는 것이 아니라, 청소년이 거주하는 지역의 특성에 부합하는 맞춤형 청소년 비행 예방정책을 시행할 것을제안하였다.

영문 초록

This study analyzed the differing effects of social context on juvenile delinquency using the Korean Children & Youth Panel Survey and demographic datasets between 2012 and 2016. Previous studies examining the impact of structural features on juvenile delinquency in Korea have operationalized such features with indices measured by perception of the youth, not with indices measured by social statistics. Therefore, this study measured the degree of social disorganization with social statistics, including divorce rate, residential mobility rate, and alien rate. With these datasets, this study analyzed the differing effects of these social features on youth smoking experience, a type of juvenile delinquency. In particular, depending on the level of social disorganization, this study divided study areas into three subgroups, including high, middle, and low, and applied a series of longitudinal multi-level logistic models to each subgroup. As a result, this study estimated that the smoking experience of youth living in areas with a high level of social disorganization was positively related to time, impulsiveness, parents’ neglect, peer delinquency, and negative social perception. On the other hand, the smoking experience of youth living in areas with a low level of social disorganization was positively related only to impulsiveness and peer delinquency. Based on these findings, this study suggested that juvenile delinquency prevention programs be tailored to the unique need of each localized area.
