국문 초록

백신 접종이 시작되었음에도 불구하고 코로나 재확산의 위험을 경고하는 팬데믹 상황은 여전히 교회를 혼란스럽게 하고 있다. 오랫동안 지속된 공동체 미사의 중단으로 무력해진 사목자의 역할에 대한 진지한 성찰에서부터, 신자와 사목자가 공동합의성(synodalitas)을 바탕으로 한 창의적 사목에 대한 기대까지, 교회는 다양한 방법으로 이 상황을 해결하기 위해 노력해 왔다. 유튜브 미사와 성경 공부, 신자들에게 안부 편지 보내기는 기본이고, 워킹스루 영성체, 신자들 집 앞을 방문하여 엽서나 선물을 걸어 두기 등 지금까지 생각하지 못했던 참신한 방법들을 시도하며, 어떻게든 교회와 신자들의 유대를 놓지 않으려 노력하고 있다. 특별히 성당 안에서 작은 모임도 갖기 어려운 상황에서 교회는 비대면 교리교육에 많은 관심을 기울이고 있다. 주교회의 여러 위원회의 검토를 거쳐 제작한 가톨릭 영상 교리는 신자들의 많은 호응을 얻었으며, 각 교구마다 영상 교리 공모전을 펼치기도 하였다. 하지만 이런 교회의 노력들의 근저에는 인간의 상황과 그리스도교 메시지를 분리시키는 이분법적인 사고가 깔려 있다. 여전히 교회는 주는 입장에 있고 신자들은 교회에서 주는 것을 잘 받아야 하는 처지다. 코로나 이전에는 성당이라는 공간에서 대면적인 방법으로 안전하게 주고받았다면, 이제는 그 공간을 특정 매체가 대신하고 있을 뿐, 여전히 주는 교회와 받는 신자, 삶과 복음 메시지의 이분법적 분리는 지속되고 있는 것이다. 폴 틸리히의 상관관계 방법은 이런 신앙의 내용과 인간의 실존에 관한 분석에서부터 출발한다. 그가 이분법적이라고 비판했던 초자연적인 방법, 인본주의적 방법, 이원론적인 방법은 에밀리오 알베리치 교수가 언급한 오늘날 교리교육 방법의 몇 가지 부적절한 모델과도 상응한다. 틸리히는 이러한 부적절한 신학 방법론을 극복하기 위해 상관관계 방법을 주창하였고, 이를 본고는 교리교육 안에서 어떻게 적용할 수 있는지 찾아보았다. 경험과 그리스도교 이야기의 상관관계 방법에서는 경험도 메시지도 중요하다. 한편으로는 사람들이 자신의 삶과 경험을 철저하게 성찰하게 하며, 다른 한편으로는 그리스도교 신앙에 대한 철저한 교육을 포함한다. 따라서 상관관계 교리교육이란 삶에 관한, 혹은 신앙 안에서의 삶에 관한 주제들에 대한 성찰적 질문을 통해 비판적 검토와 대화가 이루어지고, 그리스도교 이야기와의 의미 있고 설득력 있는 만남을 통해 삶에서 실천으로 나아가는 교육이다. 다시 말하면 인간의 경험과 그리스도교 메시지가 변증법적 해석학을 통해 반복적으로 순환하는 과정이 상관관계 교리교육의 핵심이라고 할 수 있다. 흥미 위주의 교리교육, 일상의 궁금증에 대응하는 성경구절을 찾아주는 교리교육이 아니라 팬데믹이라는 상황에 대한 비판적 검토와 대화가 교리교육의 출발점이 되고, 유기적이고 체계적인 방법으로 그리스도교 메시지와 만나, 이를 극복하기 위한 구체적인 응답을 인지적, 정의적, 심동적 영역에서 찾고 실천할 수 있도록 이끄는 것이 우리 시대의 상관관계 교리교육이다. 이제 교회는 더이상 이분법적인 도식에 갇혀 교리교육을 고민해서는 안 된다. 우리가 살아가고 있는 현실이 교리교육의 출발점이 되어야 한다. 몇몇 사목 방법을 바꾸는 주먹구구식 교리교육이 아니라 총체적 패러다임의 전환이 따라야 한다. 그래야 지금까지 교회가 교리교육을 행해 왔던 것에서 벗어나, 이제는 진정한 의미에서 교리교육이 교회를 건설할 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

Although vaccination has started, pandemic situation which warns the danger of Corona resurgence still makes the Church to confuse. With long-held discontinuity of the Mass, the Church tried in various ways to solve this situation; from serious reflection on the role of effete pastor to the expectation of creative pastoral based on synodalitas between the faithful and pastor. YouTube Mass, Bible study, ‘Hello’ letter to the faithful are fundamental concepts, and tried unexpected but up-to-date methods like ‘walking-thru Communion’, ‘visiting the faithful and hanging post card and gift in front of the house’. Anyhow, all these efforts were to maintain the tie between the Church and the faithful. Especially, under the difficult situation that even small group meeting is not allowed in the church, the Church pay a lot of attention to untact catechesis. Catholic image catechesis by video which was made after reviewing by Bishops committee achieved big responses from the faithful and even carried out video catechesis contest in each diocese. But, in the bottom of such efforts, there lies all-or-nothing thinking that separate Christianity message and human condition. Still, the Church takes the position of giving, the faithful are the position of taking well. Before the Corona pandemic, ‘give and take’ was made safely in the space of ‘church’, but now this space is replaced with specific medium. The dualistic separations of ‘giving church’ and ‘taking faithful’, ‘life and Gospel message’ are still persisted. The method of correlation of Paul Tillich started from the analysis of such religion contents and human existence. The supernatural method, humanistic method, dualistic method, which he has criticized as to all-or-nothing thinking correspond to some inadequate models of current catechesis method that professor Emilllio Alberich mentioned. To overcome these inadequate theology methods, Tillich advocated correlation method. This study has searched how it can apply in catechesis. In correlation method between experience and Christianity story, both experiences and messages are important. One the one hand, people thinks about seriously their own lives and experiences, on the other hand, it includes thorough education on the faith. Therefore, correlation education is to be made the critical appraisal and conversation through reflective question on life or life with religion, to move forward from life to practice through the encounter with meaningful and persuasive Christianity stories. In other words, the repetitive cyclic process of personal experiences and Christianity messages through the dialectical analysis of the correlation catechesis is the core. Not the interest-oriented catechesis, seeking Bible verse respond to daily life curiosity but critical appraisal and conversation on pandemic situation become a starting point of catechesis. Meet the Christianity message in the method of systematic method, then to lead to practice is today’s correlation catechesis. Now, the Church no more agonize catechesis locked in dualistic diagram. The reality where we are living now should be the starting point of catechesis. Not clumsy catechesis changing some method but total paradigm shift should be followed. Only so, catechesis can build the Church in the true sense of the world, getting out of the catechesis until now.
