국문 초록

오늘날의 세상은 과학 기술의 진보로 인해 급격하게 변화하고 있다. 제4차 산업혁명이 진행되고 있으며, 수많은 발전이 이루어졌다. 이로 인한 기술의 발전은 인류에게 번영을 가져다주었고 인류의 삶은 놀라울 정도로 편리해졌으며 인간의 평균 수명은 계속해서 늘어나고 있다. 문명의 진보는 여전히 진행 중이며, 몇십 년 후의 세상이 어떻게 발전해 있을 지에 대해 쉽게 예측하기 어렵다. 이와 마찬가지로 기술의 발전을 통한 번영이 야기하게 될 문제점에 대해서도 예단하기 어려우며, 이에 대한 충분한 준비가 이루어져 있지 않다. 인공지능이 인간을 점점 더 대신하게 되고, 인간은 더욱 더 소외될 가능성이 높다. 이러한 상황 속에서 인간 존엄성은 더욱 위협받을 가능성이 대두되고 있다. 과학 기술의 발전만을 중시한 나머지 그리고 그 성과만을 중요하게 여긴 나머지 인간의 존엄성에 대해 경시하는 사회적 분위기가 만연하게 되는 그러한 사회를 마주하게 될지도 모른다. 이러한 흐름 속에서 종교는 비과학, 비이성의 영역으로 치부되고 있으며, 종교가 과학과 공존할 수 없고 과학의 시대에 불필요한 것, 사라져야 하는 것이라고 인식하는 사람들의 수는 계속 증가하고 있는 것이 현실이다. 이것이 오늘날 교회가 마주하고 있는 세상인 것이다. 교회는 이러한 세상 속에서 세상과 소통하며 복음을 전해야 한다. 그렇기 때문에 교회는 세상 속으로 ‘육화’하여야 하는 것이다. 교회는 이 시대의 흐름을 이해하면서 그 속에서 시대의 징표를 읽을 수 있어야 한다. 그럴 수 있을 때, 교회는 세상과 소통할 수 있고, 세상이 이해할 수 있는 언어로 복음을 선포할 수 있게 되기 때문이다. 바로 여기에서 교회가 가야할 길을 발견할 수 있다. 그리고 교회의 사목의 가장 중요한 주제 중 하나야말로 바로 ‘인간’일 수밖에 없음을 직시하며, 인격을 지닌 존재로서 인간은 절대적 타자인 하느님과 통교할 줄을 알며, 하느님의 말씀에 귀 기울이고 하느님께 응답하면서 하느님과 더불어 구원의 역사를 이루어간다. 과학의 시대를 살아가고 있는 오늘날, 교회는 ‘그리스도를 따름’을 위해 세상 속에서 사랑을 실천하는 것을 자신의 사명으로 여기고, 세상 속에서 사랑의 문명을 건설하고 사랑의 문화를 뿌리내리는 데에 앞장서야 한다. 교회는 더더욱 세상 속에 머물러야 하며 사람들 속으로 들어가야 할 것이고, 그곳에서 복음의 영원한 원리들과 환경, 풍습, 역사 사이를, 세상의 역사에 대한 인간의 복음적 전망과 지역 문화적 전망 사이를 끊임없이 연결하는 역할을 수행해야만 한다. 세상 속에서의 교회의 이러한 자기 이해를 바탕으로 교회의 사목은 현대 문명기술이 가져다 줄 수 없고 해결할 수 없는 참된 인간 가치를 재정립할 수 있게될 것이다.

영문 초록

Today’s world is rapidly changing with scientific technology progress. The 4th Industrial Revolution is going on, and a lot of progresses have already made. Result from this technology development gave prosperity to humankind; the life style became marvelously convenient and average life expectancy is increasing. The progress of civilization is still ongoing; it is not easy to predict how the world would be changed in decades. Likewise, the problems caused by the prosperity from technology development are also difficult to prejudge, the preparations for these are not enough prepared. Artificial Intelligence (AI) gradually replaces human beings; the possibility of excluding human is high. Under such circumstances, the possibility of threatening human dignity comes to the fore. With putting great emphasis on to scientific development and the outcome only, it might face to the society and social atmosphere that prevails to think nothing of human dignity. In such stream, religion is considered to non-scientific, non-irrational realm. The numbers of people who think religion cannot co-exist with science, religion is unnecessary in scientific era and even should disappear, are increasing. This is the world where the Church is facing now. The Church should communicate and proclaim the Gospel within such a world. That’s why the Church should ‘incarnate’ into the world. The Church is to understand the current stream and ought to read the sign of time. When she can afford it, the Church can communicate with the world and proclaim the Gospel with the world’s languages. Right here, the Church can find the way to go. To face up one of the most important subject of the Church’s pastoral is to be ‘human’; human as personal being enters into the friendly relations with God, who is the absolute other, listens to God’s Word, responses to Him, and makes the history of salvation with God Living in scientific era, the Church takes the lead her mission to practice love in the world, to ‘follow Christ’, to build the civilization of love in the world, and to settle down the culture of love. Even more, the Church should remain in the world and enter into the people. And there, the Church performs the role to connect continuously between eternal principles of the Gospel and environment, custom, History between evangelical prospect on human history and regional cultural prospect. The Church pastoral, based on such self-understanding in the world, can reestablish true human value which modern technology cannot give and solve.
