국문 초록

병자성사의 집전은 유효하게 사제로 수품된 모든 사제들에게 주어진 의무이자 권리이다. 그런데 현재 사목 현장에서 일부 본당 사목구 주임은 자신에게 우선적으로 맡겨진 병자성사 집전에 관한 의무와 권리를 병원 원목 등 다양한 특수 사목 신부에게 미루는 경우가 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 병자성사 집전에 대한 우선적인 의무가 어떤 사제에게 부여되어 있는지 살펴봄으로써, 사목적 돌봄이 필요한 병자와 임종을 앞둔 이들에게 그리스도를 통해 드러나는 하느님의 자비와 은총의 중요성에 대하여 되짚어보고자 한다. 따라서 본 논문은 교회 문헌을 통해 병자성사 집전과 관련된 교회의 역사적 결정 과정과 현행 교회법전과 􋺷병자성사 예식􋺸 지침 안에서 언급된 병자성사의 통상적 집전자의 의무와 권리 그리고 역할에 관한 연구를 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 우선 병자성사의 의미와 목적에 대하여 그리고 병자성사의 집전 횟수에 관한 교회의 결정 과정을 살펴보았다. 다음으로 교회법 제1003조에 규정된 것처럼 병자성사 집전이 오직 사제(주교, 신부)에게만 유보된 이유에 대하여 살펴보았고, 본당 사목구 주임과 보좌신부, 담당 사제, 병원 및 요양원의 원목 신부, 신학교 학장과 성직자 수도회 장상 등 병자성사 집전 권리와 의무를 지닌 사제들의 역할을 교회법적이고 사목적인 관점에서 살펴보았다. 그리고 결론은 통해 병자성사의 통상적 집전자 가운데에서 어떠한 사제에게 교회법적으로 병자성사 집전에 관한 우선권이 주어져 있는지 그리고 이 성사의 집전 권한을 가진 사제가 어떤 사목적 역할을 해야 하는지에 대해 제안하였다. 이러한 연구 논문을 통해 기대하는 바는 다음과 같다. 즉, 병자성사를 집행하는 사제가 병자와 죽음을 앞둔 이들을 돌봐야 하는 이유와 그 중요성을 명확히 인식할 것과 병자성사를 집전하는 사제들, 즉 본당 사목구 주임과 특수 사목을 담당하는 사제들 각각의 역할에 대한 상호 이해를 돕고, 그들이 사목 현장에서 병자와 죽음을 앞둔 이들을 돌보며 서로 원할하게 소통하고 협력함으로써 그리스도의 자비와 은총이 병자성사를 통해 병자와 임종을 앞둔 이에게 충분히 전해질 것을 기대한다.

영문 초록

To administer the Anointing of the Sick is the responsibility and the right endowed to all eligibly ordained priests. But these days, some of parish pastors shift over their primary duty of administering the Anointing of the Sick to priest in the hospital or various special duty priests. In this study, look over to who has the overriding responsibility of administering the Anointing of the Sick and trace back the importance of God’s mercy and grace showing through Christ to the patients and dying persons who needed pastoral caring. So, this study aimed for the general duties, responsibilities and roles of the minister mentioned in current Canon Law and guidelines of “The Anointing of the Sick”, and Church documents and its decisions about its ceremony. Firstly, to do this, look over the meaning and purpose of the Anointing of the Sick, and Church decision process regarding the numbers of administering it. Then, look over the reason of its administering is restricted only to priests (bishops, presbyters) who have duties and responsibilities prescribed in the Canon Law Article 1003, and the role of priests; parish pastor, parochial vicar, priest in the hospital and nursing home, seminary rector, religious priest, in Church law point and pastoral point. Through the conclusion, propose to who has the priority on administering the Anointing of the Sick from the point of the Canon Law, and administering priest’s pastoral role what they perform. These are the points from this thesis; to clearly aware the reason and importance of caring the patients and dying persons. To help the mutual understanding of the specific role of administering from priests, parish pastors and special duty priests. To communicate and help smoothly when they care the patients and dying persons in the field. So, through the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick expect to deliver the mercy and grace of Christ to the patients and dying persons.
