성내천 하류역의 고지형 연구

국문 초록

성내천 하류역은 한성백제기 핵심유적인 풍납토성과 몽촌토성 사이에 위치하고 있어 지리적으로 중요한 의미를 갖는다. 하지만 성내천 하류역은 1970년대 초 상당한 지형변화로 원형을 잃고 지금까지 거의 주목되지 못했다. 따라서 본 연구는 이러한 성내천 하류역의 원지형을 찾고 세부적인 특징을 분석하는 것이다. 서울 동남부 일대는 암반(풍화대) 위에 홍적층과 충적층 물질이 차례로 퇴적되어 형성된 지대이다. 성내천 하류역에서도 이와 동일한 퇴적 질서를 나타나며, ‘북동-남서’ 방향의 충적단구가 기반 지형을 이루고 있다. 한편 성내천 하류역에는 독특한 원야(原野) 필지가 확인된다. 원야는 미고지 규명의 단서가 될 수 있으므로, 옛 항공사진과 시추주상도의 토층구조 자료를 사용하여 원지형적 양상을 분석해 보았다. 그 가운데 성내천으로 돌출된 한 필지에서 자갈섞인 두꺼운 점토층이 발견되었는데, 주변 풍납토성의 성토지대 점토층과 비교해 볼 때 물성적인 유사성을 보여 지형지세적 특성과 함께 성토 지대의 가능성이 제시하였다. 본 연구는 그동안 잘 다뤄지지 못했던 성내천 하류역의 원지형 특징을 분석한 것이다. 비록 연구결과는 실증적이고 명료한 결과에 도달할 수 없었지만, 향후 풍납 및 몽촌토성의 관계성 문제를 비롯하여 백제 한성(漢城) 지역 이해에 대한 기초적인 틀로써 기여하게 될 것으로 기대한다.

영문 초록

The downstream area of Seongnaecheon has a geographical significance as it is located between Pungnaptoseong and Mongchontoseong, the core ruins of the Hanseong Baekje period. However, the area lost its original form due to significant topographic changes in the early 1970s, and has received little attention until now. Therefore, this study aims to discover the terrain of the downstream area of Seongnaecheon and analyze its detailed characteristics. The southeastern part of Seoul is an area formed by sequentially depositing diluviual and alluvial layers on rock mass (weathering belt). The sedimentary order of the downstream area of Seongnaecheon is also shown in the same pattern, and the alluvial terrace in the direction from Northeast to Southwest with an altitude of 15 meters or higher forms the base topography. And the Seongnaecheon stream penetrates the middle of the terrace in an Z-shape. Meanwhile, some unique forest parcels were discovered around the abandoned channel of Seongnaecheon. A thick clay layer was found in one of the parcels, and it was concluded that it could be a filing ground layer compared to that of the near Pungnaptoseong. This study attempted to find out the ancient terrain in the downstream area of Seongnaecheon, which had not been well dealt with so far, as an archaeological clue. Although clear results could not be reached, it is expected that it was able to contribute one step to understanding the geographic characteristics of the Baekje Hanseong region by presenting the original terrain and archaeological possibilities.
