국문 초록

1945년 해방과 함께 남북 분단의 역사는 76년이 지났으며, 다섯 차례의 정상회담과 서해교전, 천안함 사건, 북핵 문제(핵개발과 핵실험) 등의 남북관계는 긴장과 완화를 거듭하고 있다. 그러나 통일은 우리 한민족이 풀어야 할 지상과제이다. 남북의 통일을 위해서는 서로에 대한 올바른 이해를 바탕으로 합리적 판단을 통하여 통일을 지향하기 위하여 다양한 통일교육의 필요성이 제기되고 있다. 특히, 학교교육에서 통일교육은 분단의 아픔을 겪어 보지 못한 미래 성장세대가 남북문제를 경험할 수 있는 유일무이한 기회라고 할 수 있다. 이 연구의 목적은 통일교육의 필요성을 확인하고, 효과적인 통일교육을 위한 통일인문학 교육의 가능성을 탐색하는 것이다. 연구의 이론적 기초로서 통일교육의 모형, 국내⋅외 통일교육의 사례, 통일인문학을 중심으로 고찰하였다. 연구 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 통일역량, 평화역량, 통일인문학과 관련된 이론을 중점적으로 탐색하고, 교육현장에서 효과적인 통일교육을 위한 통일인문학교육 프로그램의 실천 가능성을 확인할 수 있었다. 둘째, 학생들의 통일역량 개발을 위하여 독서와 영화를 활용한 통일인문학교육 프로그램을 개발⋅예시하였다. 결론적으로 통일인문학교육은 체제나 이념, 경제 중심이 아닌 ‘삶 중심의 통일’을 지향하는 패러다임을 보여주고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 추가하여 효과적인 통일교육을 위한 통일인문학적 접근은 분단의 상처를 치유하면서 우리 사회가 온전히 회복되고 남북 간의 관계도 바람직한 방향으로 정립할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

영문 초록

With the liberation in 1945, the history of the division between South and North Korea has been 76 years, and interKorean relations such as five summit meetings, the West Sea War, the incident of Cheonan Fleet, and the North Korean nuclear issue such as nuclear development and nuclear test have repeatedly helped to relieve tension and relaxation. However, unification is an imperative task for the Korean people to solve. For the unification of the two Koreas, the necessity of various unification education has been raised in order to pursue unification through rational judgment based on correct understanding of each other. In particular, unification education in school education can be said to be the only opportunity for future generations who have not experienced the pain of division to experience inter-Korean problems. The purpose of the study is to confirm the necessity of unification education and to explore the possibility of unification humanities education for effective unification education. As the theoretical basis of the study, we have considered the model of unification education, cases of unification education at home and abroad, and the humanities of unification. The summary of the research results is as follows: Firstly, it was possible to focus on theories related to unification competency, peace competency, and unification humanities, and to confirm the practical possibility of the unification humanities education program for effective unification education in the school education. Secondly, for the development of students unification competencies, a unified humanities education program using reading and movies was developed and illustrated. In conclusion, it could be confirmed that the unification humanities education shows a paradigm that aims for ‘life-oriented unification’ rather than system, ideology, and economy. In addition, the unification humanities approach for effective unification education is expected to heal the trauma of the division, fully recover our society, and establish inter-Korean relations in a desirable direction.
