국문 초록

본 연구는 굿네이버스가 수행한 말라위 옥수수 소득증대사업을 중심으로 비정부기구(NGOs)의 소득증대사업 효과성을 분석하였다. 말라위의 옥수수 소득증대사업은 옥수수 수매 및 유통을 위한 창고건축, 회전기금 대출을 통한 비료 및 종자 확보, 교육 훈련 등으로 구성되어 있으며, 이를 통한 옥수수 생산량 증가 및 지역 공동체의 소득 증가 등의 경제적 자립 역량 향상을 목표로 하였다. 본 연구는 현지 주민들을 대상으로 한 설문조사 및 인터뷰, 초점집단 면접의 결과를 교차분석 함으로써 사업의 효과성을 분석하였다. 그 결과, 굿네이버스의 소득 증대 사업은 말라위 지역 내 옥수수 생산량 및 농민 소득 증가, 지역 공동체 기여 측면에서 측정 가능한 긍정적인 성과를 나타내었다.

영문 초록

This study attempts to understand the effectiveness of income generating projects of non-governmental organizations, focusing on income generating project of Good Neighbors in Malawi. Income generating project in Malawi consists of warehouse construction for storing maze, revolving fund for fertilizer and seed, and educational training. It aims to increase the income of communities and production of maze for the establishment of independent economic capability. By conducting the focus group interview and survey with local villagers, the effectiveness of the project is analyzed. In result, income generating project of Good Neighbors in Malawi has a positive impact in terms of increased income and maze production with community development.
