워킹맘의 가족관광 경험에 대한 현상학적 연구

국문 초록

최근 여가활동 시간이 증대되며 가족단위의 여가활동인 가족관광이 증가하고 있다. 워킹맘들에게 가족관광은 휴식 및 기분전환을 통해 직장생활과 일상생활의 균형을 이루기 위한 수단으로 작용할 수 있는 반면 남편 및 자녀 등 다른 가족구성원들을 돌보는 역할과 책임감으로 인해 가족관광의 경험이 손상될 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구의 목적은 직장과 가정 영역을 병행하는 워킹맘들의 가족관광 경험을 이해하고 가족관광에 내재된 본질적 의미를 분석 하는 것이다. 이를 위해 자녀 및 남편 등을 동반한 가족관광 경험이 있는 워킹맘 11명을 대상으로 인터뷰를 통해 자료를 수집하였다. 수집된 자료를 기반으로 질적 연구방법인 Colaizzi의 현상학적 연구방법을 적용하여 분석한 결과 ‘가족과의 관계 발전’, ‘삶의 원동력’, ‘심리적 및 사회적 압박감’, 및 ‘나를 위한 시간 결여’ 등 4개의 범주가 도출되었다. 즉 워킹맘들이 경험하는 가족관광은 가족과의 관계가 강화되고 삶을 살아가는 원동력으로써 작용하는 긍정적인 경험이 내재되어 있는 반면 심리적 및 사회적 압박감을 느끼고 자기 자신을 위한 시간이 결여되어 있다는 부정적인 경험도 내재되어 있는 것으로 나타났다. 연구결과를 기반으로 가족관광에 내재되어 있는 의미에 대한 체계적이고 종합적인 이론적 시사점을 제공하였다. 뿐만 아니라 워킹맘들이 직면한 가족관광의 문제점에 대한 제시를 통해 가족관광이 가족여가활동으로써 올바른 여가문화를 정착해나갈 수 있는 실무적 시사점을 제공하였다.

영문 초록

Recently, family tourism as a family leisure has been growing with increasing leisure time. Family tourism can serve as a means to balance working and daily lives through relaxation and refreshment for working mothers. However, family tourism experience of working mothers can be damaged by role and responsibility in caring for other family members such as children and husband. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to ascertain the meaning of family tourism experience targeting on working moms who hold down a job and run a household at the same time. The data were collected through the interviews with eleven working moms who had family tourism experiences with their children and husbands to achieve the purpose of the research. The collected data were analyzed using the phenomenological research method of Colaizzi, which is one of the most prevalent qualitative research methods. As a result of the analysis, four categories, which were development of relationships with family the driving force to live , psychological and social pressure , and lack of time for me were derived. In other words, family tourism experienced by working moms was inherent both in positive experiences including strengthening family relationship and the driving force to live and in negative experiences such as psychological and social pressure and lack of time for working mom s own self. This study provided theoretical and managerial implications for effective family tourism as a family leisure.
