국문 초록

이 연구는 니체와 듀이의 삶 철학을 이해하고 그들이 주장한 주체적인 삶을 위한 방법적 원리가 무엇인지를 밝히고자 하였다. 이들의 삶 철학을 살펴본 결과 하나의 생명체로서 거부할 수 없는 인간 삶의 본질은 힘의 증대와 생성, 혹은 자기 존재의 유지와 갱신이다. 또한 인간은 힘의 증대와 생성, 혹은 갱신을 통하여 끊임없는 자기 극복과 성장을 이어가는 과정적 존재이다. 따라서 인간은 자신이 가지고 있는 능동적 의지와 힘을 발휘하여 자신의 삶을 주체적으로 이끌어가야 한다. 이러한 니체와 듀이의 삶 철학을 기초로 연구자들은 그들이 주장하는 주체적 삶을 위한 방법적 원리를 밝혀냈다. 그 원리 중 하나는 니체가 말하는 ‘해석’이며 다른 하나는 듀이가 강조하는 ‘탐구’이다. 해석과 탐구의 원리는 공통적으로 자기 인식과 자기 비판, 그리고 반성을 토대로 이루어질 수 있는 방법이다. 따라서 니체와 듀이의 삶 철학에 따르면 인간이란 해석과 탐구의 방식으로 기존의 자신의 생각을 비판하고 해체(파괴)하여 새롭게 해석하며 창조적으로 재구성해 나가는 존재이다. 이러한 주장을 교육적 관점에서 바라볼 때, 교육은 학습자를 주체적 존재로 바라보고 학습자 스스로 자신의 주체적이고 창조적인 삶을 살아갈 수 있도록 학습자들에게 해석과 탐구에 대한 연습과 훈련의 기회를 제공해야 하며 이를 안내해야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

This study is to understand the philosophy of Nietzsche and Dewey s life and to explore the methodological principles of subjective life in their writings. As a result of their research, their philosophy of life has shown that the irresistible nature of human life as a living being is the maintenance and renewal of one s existence, the constant increase and creation of power. Nietzsche and Dewey also argued that human beings are self-reliant beings who exercise their active will and power to realize the essence of life. Based on this philosophy of Nietzsche and Dewey s life, researchers have identified what they claim to be a methodical principle for self-reliance. It is Nietzsche s interpretation and Dewey s exploration . In other words, Nietzsche and Dewey s claimed method of subjective life is a method of interpretation and exploration based on self-awareness and reflection. Human beings can criticize and dismantle (destroy) existing ideas in a way of interpretation and exploration, interpret them anew and creatively reconstruct them. If we look at their arguments from an educational perspective, we can see that education is about fostering the ability to interpret and explore so that learners can live their own lives. Therefore, how to develop these abilities for learners will be an important problem for educators of this era.
