국문 초록

본 논문은 조선 시대 가족의 문제를 가족 감정의 차원에서 논의한다. 가족에 대한 연구를 단지 국가의 이념이나 제도 차원에서만 접근할 경우, 구성원의 경험, 감정, 욕망과 같은 미시 주제들이 간과될 수 있다고 생각하기 때문이다. 감정이 사회문화적 권력관계와 밀접한 연관을 맺고 있다고 보며, 감정을 권력 작용의 효과, 즉 권력의 전도와 은폐를 통해 성취되고 발휘되는 효과로 인식한다. 이러한 문제의식 하에서 본 논문에서는 소혜왕후와 영빈이씨의 경우를 중심으로 왕실 여성의 젠더 권력과 가족 감정이 드러내는 중층적이고 복잡한 관계를 살펴보고, 이를 통해 조선 시대 유학과 가족, 여성의 관계를 규명하고자 한다. 조선 왕실 여성의 젠더 권력과 가족 감정의 관계를 다룸으로써 권력(이념)과 감정이 만들어내는 역동성, 상호성, 중층성을 살펴보고, 가족과 긴밀한 관계를 유지해왔던 전통 시대 여성들의 삶과 정체성 문제를 재조명, 재배치할 근거를 모색하고자 한다.

영문 초록

This paper discusses the issue of family in the Joseon era through the Family emotions. When family dynamics are viewed solely as a result of national ideologies and policies, I believe that subtle elements of the individual, such as one’s experiences, emotions, and ambitions, can often be overlooked. With this context in mind, this paper looks at emotion in relation to sociocultural power dynamics and recognizes emotion as an application of authority; namely, as an effect which arises through the reversal or concealment of power. Especially, in this paper closely examines the complex and multi-layered relationships focus on the Queen Sohye and Consort Yeongbin, through which these of women of the royal family displayed the authority of their gender and family emotions, allowing a greater understanding of the relationship between Confucianism with family and women in the Joseon Era. Accordingly, this may reveal that family emotion is in fact not simply a subjective experience or memory, nor does it merely passively reflect the ideologies of its era. Furthermore, we may begin to explore the possibility of shining a new light upon the discussion on the woman identity in pre-modern Korea.
