재일(在日) 제주인의 상공업활동에 관한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 재일 제주인의 상공업활동 실태를 파악하고 재일 제주인기업의 현황과 특질을 해명하는 것이다. 본 연구에 대한 결과는 다음과 같이 요약할 수 있다. 첫째, 재일 제주인의 업종을 보면 동경지역에서 음식업과 가방제조업, 대판지역에서 신발제조업, 음식업, 건설업 등이 대부분을 이루고 있고 이들 업종은 재일 한국인의 업종과는 다소의 차이를 나타내고 있으며 재일 제주인의 경제활동 기반이 되고 있음을 알 수 있다. 둘째, 지역별로는 북제주군 출신자가 102명(42.3%)으로 가장 많은 비중을 차지하고 있고 이들 대부분은 대판지역에서 상공업활동을 영위하는 것으로 보인다. 셋째, 기업형태별로는 주식회사가 161명(64.9%)으로 가장 많은 비중을 차지하고 있어 제주상공인은 다른 기업형태에 비해 주식회사 형태로 상공업활동을 하고 있음을 알 수 있다. 넷째, 연령별로는 60대가 92명(37.0%)으로 창업 1세에 해당되는 연령이 가장 많고 이들 대부분은 현재까지 후계자를 결정하지 않고 경영권을 계속 유지하고 있는 것으로 판단된다. 다섯째, 업종별로는 제조업이 119명(48.0%)을 차지하고 있으며 이들은 산발, 플라스틱, 봉제 등의 제조업 분야에서 가장 많은 상공업활동을 하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 제주사회와 재일 제주인사회와의 발전적인 교류를 모색함은 물론 재일 제주인들이 거주하는 일본사회로의 관심과 이해가 증진되어 향후 한·일간의 관계중진에 밑거름이 될 것이다.

영문 초록

The study on the actual condition of commerce and industry activities of Jejuian residents in Japan grasps the present condition of their administration and specific characters. In view of the result of this study so far achieved gives an outline of: the category of business of Jejuian resident in Tokyo have a majority in the section of restaurant business and bag manufacturing industry and in the section of shoes manufacturing industry, restaurant business and construction in Osaka. However, these categories are slightly different from the categories of Korean(or Chosun) resident in Japan but it shows that is the basis of their economic activities. Secondly, in the view of classified by a region, Bukjejugun has a major possession of 42.3% and it regards that most of Jejuian from Bukjejugun are running their business in Osaka. And classified by form of their company, 64.9% of them are running their business as a company limited and it shows Jejuian runs more their business as company limited than other form of company. In the case of age, 37.0% of businesses are running by aged 60 s as founders and they still remain as an operator without designating their successors. In addition, classified by types of industry, manufacturing industry like as shoes, plastic and needlework has a major possession of 48%. In this study, the result to lead that looking forward both Jeju community and Jejuian resident community in Japan as well as Japan society will promote expansive exchange among them. This is applied to comprehend specific characters of Jejuian merchants and industrial in Japan and grope appropriate way of their activities by understanding the actual condition of them.
