노인의 신체기능 상태에 따른 정신건강에 미치는 영향에서 성별 차이

국문 초록

본 연구는 65세 이상 성별에 따른 노인의 신체기능 상태 및 정신건강을 파악하고 인구사회학적 특성에 따른 차이를 확인하고자 실시되었으며, 본 연구는 2016년도 한국의료패널 자료를 이용하여 1,296명을 연구대상으로 하였다. 연구 결과 남성 노인은 신체적 일상생활활동 정상군의 불안과 스트레스 정도가 기능장애군에 비해 낮았으나, 여성 노인은 신체적 일상생활활동 정상군이 높았다. 그리고 남성 노인과 여성노인 모두 정상군이 기능장애군 보다 자살 충동 경험이 높았다. 우울은 남녀 노인 모두에서 신체적 일상생활활동 정상군이 기능장애군에 비해 높았지만, 통계적으로 유의하지는 않았다. 도구적 일상생활활동 정상군에서 불안과 스트레스는 남성 노인과 여성 노인 모두에서 낮은 결과를 보였지만, 남성 노인은 기능장애군이 높았고, 자살충동을 경험한 노인은 정상군의 비율이 높았다. 여성 노인은 도구적 일상생활활동 정상군의 우울이 높았고, 자살충동 경험은 기능장애군이 높았지만 통계적으로 유의하지 않았다. 노인의 전반적인 건강향상을 위하여 신체기능 상태 및 정신건강을 성별에 따른 차이를 파악하여 급속히 고령화 되고 있는 사회에서 노인복지와 건강관리 프로그램 개발이 필요할 것이다.

영문 초록

This study was conducted to identify the physical function status and mental health of elderly aged 65 or older and to identify differences in demographic and sociological characteristics. In this study, 1,296 people were studied using the 2016 Korean Medical Panel data. As a result of this study, the level of anxiety and stress in the normal group of activity of daily living was lower than that of the impaired group for the elderly man, but the normal group of activity of daily living for the elderly women was higher than that of the impaired group. Both the elderly male and female were found to have more experience in suicidal ideation thoughts than in impaired groups. Depression was not statistically significant, although the normal group of activity of daily living in both the elderly men and women was higher than the impaired group. In the normal group of instrumental activity of daily living, anxiety and stress showed low results in both the elderly male and female, but the elderly man had high impaired group, and the elderly man who experience in suicidal ideation impulse had a high percentage of normal group. In order to improve the overall health of the elderly men and women, it will be necessary to develop welfare programs for the elderly and health care programs in a rapidly aging society by identifying differences in physical function status and mental health according to gender.
