To sum up, domestic viewpoints and responses from the patriotic deed of Ahn Joong-Geun are following : (1) Seo-Buk Hakhoe made an appeal to the international society against the suppression of the Japanese Empire. Moreover it determined to stand against Japanese opinion which insisted that Soonjong emperor had to visit Japan. Daehan Mailsinbo(Deahan dairy newspaper) presented the ideas and activities of Ahn’s through more positive information of Ahn’s claims and situations concerning the trial than any other presses. The interior resistances such as Kim Kyeong-sik were very pleasure with Ahn’s patriotic deed on the on hand and regreted that they themselves had not managed to do that on the other hand. After that, these resistances recognized Vladivostok where Ahn had been in activity as the base of an independence movement. (2) Some Catholics had a preyer meeting for Ahn at 26, March in 1910 when Ahn died at Port Arthur and collected 2 thousand Hwan(a monetary unit at that time) for contributions for Ahn. The students of Ehwa Hak-dang who were Christians attended the memorial ceremony for Ito Hirobumi But nevertheless they paid a tribute to Ahn through rejecting the silent homage for Ito. And Confucians admired Ahn’s behavior, giving statements blaming for Ito to the consulates of every country. (3) As exemples of Hong eun-hee and Sangrokhoei of Chuncheon public middle school, Ahn became a spiritual prop of students. On the contrary, the pro-japanese group praised Ito as a guardian of the Eastern peace and denounced Ahn as a rebel in order to pursuit their own political, social, economical interests. Their unpatriotic conducts are following : (1) The Korean Imperial household and government dispatched an envoy to the funeral of Ito. They didn’t treated the diplomatic problems occurred by Ito’s death, that is, the problems of absorption of Korea into Japan and of personal protection for Prince Imperial with a view to developing Korean history, but intended to solve these problems by sending notables representing all social standing to the funeral for staying in power. On the contrary, Japanese Empire showed a kindness to an envoy and Pince Imperial in order to conceal their scheme for absorption of Korea. Therefore Korean Imperial household and government couldn’t perceive the real intention of japanese kindness. (2) Non governmental pro-japanese prominent figures tried sending, so-called, “national apology group”. Japanese Empire withdrew the offer because they concluded that the pro-japanese group intended to satisfy self-interests and selfish desire through sending apology group and doing so could interfere with the policy of aggression on Korea. (3) Moreover the pro-japanese group performed a memorial ceremony for Ito and promoted to erect a monument. Through the facts such as the pro-japanese bureaucrats and the authorities of Japan forced the students to participate the ceremony, we must pay attention to Japanese Empire’s intention for removal of potential anti-japanese force. The concept about Ahn’s patriotic deed of the pro-japanese group who promoted to erect a monument lay on the same line as that of Japanese residents in Korea. But like the case of pro-japanese group’s sending apology group, Japanese Empire thought critically about their performing a memorial ceremony and promoting to erect a monument. As we saw, the pro-japanese group perceived Ahn’s patriotic deed as the whole challenge against vested interests. Furthermore they abused Ahn’s patriotic deed and mourned for the death of Ito excessively in order to show further their loyalty to Japanese Empire for their own interests. These perception of pro-japanese group about Ahn’s patriotic deed was not built in a day but constructed on the historic orbit. Moreover Ahn’s patriotic deed operated as a barometer implying historical significance just before Korea became Japan’s colony.
