상담자가 인식하는 중년남성의 분노문제

국문 초록

평균수명의 증가로 중년남성의 정신 건강과 이들에 대한 전문적 개입의 필요성이 높아지고 있다. 본 연구는 상담자들이 인식하는 중년남성 분노의 원인과 특성을 파악하고 이에 따른 개입방안을 제시하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해 중년남성의 분노문제 상담경험이 있는 상담자 20명을 대상으로 포커스 그룹 인터뷰(FGI)(11명)와 심층 면접(9명)을 하였다. 상담자와의 FGI와 심층면접은 중년남성 분노문제의 상담경험에 대한 전문가의 생각을 접할 수 있어 이와 관련된 적절한 상담방안을 탐색하고자 하는 본 연구의 목적과 부합하기 때문이다. 인터뷰 내용을 분석한 결과, 증년남성의 분노의 원인으로는 가정에서의 소외감, 직장내 스트레스, 끼인 세대, 개인적인 특성을 꼽았다. 중년남성 분노의 특성으로는 분노를 인식하지 못함, 회피적 표현, 수동적 표현, 충동적 표현, 그리고 긍정적인 대처를 언급하였다. 마지막으로 상담개입 방안으로는 인정욕구를 인정하여 “기를 살리기”, 비언어적 방식 활용, 욕구 자각을 돕기, 집단상담 필요성을 제안하였다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 중년남성의 분노문제 개입을 위한 제언과 연구의 의의 및 후속연구에 대한 제안을 하였다.

영문 초록

The life expectancy extension is increasing the need for mental health of middle-aged men and professional intervention in them. T.he purpose of this study was to examine the counselor’s perspectives on the characteristics of middle-aged men’s anger problem and to suggest counseling intervention strategies for counselors. FGI and individual in-depth interviews were conducted with 20 counseling experts who had experience in counseling anger problems of middle-aged men. The FGI and individual in-depth interviews was suitable for this study because the method could give appropriate counseling intervention based their experiences. As a result, the causes of middle-aged men’s anger were alienation at home, stress in the workplace, stuck generation, and personal characteristics. As the characteristics of anger, anger inability, avoidant expression, passive expression, impulsive expression, and positive coping were mentioned. Finally, “empoweringt” by acknowledging the desire for recognition, use of nonverbal counseling method, helping awareness of needs and the need to intervene in group counseling were suggested as a counseling intervention. Based on these results, practical implications for middle-aged men and suggestions for further research were discussed.
