국문 초록

평생교육의 이념을 기반으로 한 평생학습사회에서는 학교가 가정, 미디어, 지역사회와 같은 다른 교육 시스템들과 적극적으로 연계해야 함을 강조하고 있다. 이러한 맥락에서 본 연구는 서울지역 마을-학교 연계사업에 참여하고 있는 공교육 교사들이 어떤 인식 변화과정을 보이는지 전환학습 관점에서 살펴보고자 사례연구를 실시하였다. 연구 결과 참여자들은 낯선 마을과의 만남에서 발생한 ‘왜 마을인가’의 딜레마에서 시작하여 기존의 교육 준거틀에 대한 비판적 검토, 새로운 시도와 교사의 확신을 거쳐 새로운 관점에 근거한 삶의 재통합이라는 인식변화 과정을 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 인식변화와 관련된 특성으로는 가시적인 학생들의 변화 목격, 배움과 삶의 일치를 지향하는 교육과정 재구성 경험, 구체적 삶의 터전으로서의 마을 공간이 탐색 되었다. 이러한 주요 특성들은 교사들에게 마을사업에 대한 교육적 확신을 갖도록 하였으며, 이 교육적 확신은 교사들로 하여금 마을사업의 어려움 속에서도 다시 사업에 참여하도록 하는 원동력으로 작용하고 있었다. 마지막으로 이 논문은 평생교육이 향후 공간 담론과 지역의 공간구축에 더욱 관심을 가질 필요가 있으며 학생과 교사, 그리고 학부모를 포함한 지역주민들이 마을교육공동체의 주체로서 성장할 수 있도록 역량 강화에 기여해야 함을 주장하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to explore how teachers change their perspectives on community and education during participation in a school-community partnership program in the Seoul area. To achieve this purpose, this study adopts a case study to understand and analyze deeply teachers experience of school-community partnership. As a result, teachers tended to begin their change of perspectives with a dilemma about ‘why the community should be issued?’ After that, they critically reviewed their frames of reference and rebuilded their confidence on education. Based on these experiences, they tried to apply new educational methods and reintegrated changed perspectives into their lives. This study also found three characteristics that influence the change of teachers’ perspectives such as the observation of students’ changes of behavior and attitudes, experiences of reconstructing curriculum reconciling learning and life, and the community as the real and concrete life world. These characteristics made teachers have educational confidences about the importance of community in educational practice and play as a driving force for continuing school-community partnership in spite of lots of challenges. Based on these findings, this study claims that lifelong education needs to focus on discussing about the space and constructing community as a learning space and supporting community residents and teachers to be the subject of community.
