사슴(鹿)의 捕獲·解體·利用에 대한 試論

국문 초록

사슴은 초식동물로서 일명 쓰레기장이라는 패총에서 가장 많이 출토하는 포유류이다. 패총에서 출토하는 사슴과 관련된 것은 깨어진 뼈, 완전한 뼈, 도구 흔적이 있는 뼈와 도구로 제작된 연모로 출토한다. 이러한 정황은 당시 사람들의 사슴에 대한 활용도와 중요도를 반증하는 것으로서 여러 정황으로 출토되는 사슴골격을 통해 당시 사회의 한 단면을 유추할 수 있다. 사슴은 삼림에 서식하는 대형포유류이므로 취락 사람들이 상호 협조하여 궁시법, 투창법, 습성이요, 동물이용법 등으로 포획하여야 한다. 포획된 사슴은 수렵지역과 취락에서 일정한 방법으로 해체하고, 뼈의 부위는 목적과 활용도에 따라 깨거나, 쪼개어서 골수를 확보하고, 생활에 필요한 연모로 제작하였으며 뼈에 남아 있는 흔적과 형태를 검토하여 당시 사회의 기술적인 수준을 알 수 있다. 사슴은 살, 내장, 피, 골수를 식용으로 하는 단백질공급원 확보와 다양한 식용방법, 그리고 부위별로 제작되는 연모의 종류와 여러 가지의 제작방법이 존재하였음을 알 수 있고, 가죽의 확보, 제작, 건조 및 이용은 고도의 기술과 각별한 정성 및 노력으로 생산하여 의식주에 적극적으로 활용하였다.

영문 초록

The deer is a hervibore, the most often excavated mammal in so-called shell middens. The things, concerned with deers in the excavation of shell middens are broken bones, perfectly-preserved bones, bones with traces used as tools, bone implement made to be tools. These circumstances show the use and importance of the deer to the contemporaries, and we can analogize the faces of the society through deers bones excavated in many different types. A deer is a big-sized mammal living in forests. To hunting it, resident people had to work together by the methods using bows and arrows, pears, and deers habits, and the bates by other animals. Captured deers are butchered in a regular way in both the spot of the capture and the residence. Then the parts of the bones are used to get bones marrow after breaking and cleaving according to the purpose and utilization, and produce some useful tools. Examining the traces and types of the bones tells technical level of the society. Deers are available for the protein provider by its flesh, guts, blood, and bones marrow, various diets, and many kinds of implement as to the parts of the bones with several production ways. Moreover, the skin s taking over, production, dry, and use with high technology had been done with special sincerity and effort to utilize progressively for food, clothing, and housing.
