公州長善里 유적 발굴 성과에 대한 몇가지 검토

국문 초록

지난해 9월부터 연말까지 충남 공주시 탄천면 장선리 151-6번지 일대에서 3∼4세기 원삼국시대 지하식혈거주거가 발견되었다. 집중적으로 40여기가 조사된 이 유구들은 《삼국지》, 위서, 동이전에 나오는 土室과 연결시켜 왔다. 문헌 자료의 검토결과 토실과는 관계가 먼 것을 알게 되었다. 이 장선리 유적에서 가장 주목되는 점은 방어 시설 문제이다. 3∼4세기란 시기는 종래의 환호 방어가 끝나고 토성 방어로 가는 과도기에 위치해 있다. 이 때 토성의 전단계로서 유적의 주위 지형이 주목되었다. 출입구를 목책 등으로 막고 주위에 3∼4군데의 초소에 보초를 세우면 거의 완벽한 방어 시설을 갖는 방어집락임을 현지 조사의 결과 알게 되었다.

영문 초록

The archaeological team of the Research Institute of Choongnam Development discovered about 40 subterranean pit features in Jangsun-ri, Gongju City at the end of 2000. Scholars who involved in the project have suggested that there could be is a close relationship between these pit features and the ones described in the Chinese historical document of the San quo chi. After a careful examination of the historical document in terms of pit features, 1 came to a conclusion that they are not related at all. The entire site location looks quite important in terms of defense. Unfortunately, however, the archaeologists have not paid close attention to this point. In this paper, I bring up the issue that the residential area took advantage of natural topography to defend them selves agaiat neighboring enemies, The site location might have been perfect in terms of defense if they had constructed guard-posts at three relatively less steep hill areas. I hope this research could make some contribution to the study of the archaeological meaning of the site location in the future.
