해방 이후 북한 민족주의 세력의 경제 노선과 연합전선의 토대

국문 초록

역사학의 현재성 측면에서 볼 때 남북한이 평화통일·대등통일·협상통일을 이루기 위해선 어느 한쪽의 주도성을 강조하기보다는 상호 대등한 차원에서 좌우·남북문제를 바라볼 필요가 있다. 그 일환으로 본 논문은 북한 민족주의 세력과 사회주의 세력의 경제 노선을 비교한 후 상호 수렴할 수 있었던 내재적 원인에 대해서 살펴보았다. 조선민주당의 경제 노선은 토지개혁 방식을 제외하면 대부분 사회주의 세력과 유사했다. 그 이유는 관서지방 신흥 부르주아지들이 갖고 있던 지역적 전통 및 일제하 경제운동을 통한 경험 때문이었다. 그들은 양반·지주가의 전통에 바탕을 둔 자본주의 근대화 노선과 달리 금욕·절제·근면 등 프로테스탄티즘 윤리를 앞세우며 산업자본에 기반한 생산적이고 건강한 자본가상을 제시했다. 이것이 사회주의 세력의 중소 상공업자 활용 방침과 맞물리며 서로 타협할 수 있는 여지를 주었다. 천도교청우당은 현실 참여적 종교로서 천도교가 갖고 있던 교리적 특성과 민족운동의 전통을 바탕으로 사회주의 세력과 연대할 수 있었다. 그들은 ‘보국안민(輔國安民)’과 ‘포덕천하(布德天下)’를 지상 세계에 건설하는 것을 목표로 삼고, 그것을 달성하기 위한 경제 이념으로 ‘동귀일체(同歸一體)’론을 제시하였다. ‘동귀일체’란 인간사회를 개인의 신체에 빗댄 개념으로서 신체가 건강하려면 영양과 혈액이 골고루 분배·순환되어야 하듯 인간사회도 부의 편중이 없어야 한다는 것이었다. 천도교청우당은 이 이념을 기반으로 사유재산의 철폐 등을 내세우며 사회주의 세력과 경제적 측면에서 연대할 수 있었다.

영문 초록

The United Front strategy, which focuses on the importance of coordination, could provide further reflection to inter-Korean peaceful unification. Based on this theory, this study examines the materialistic foundation, which may have been the foundation for the left-right wing coalition, and explores the applicability of economic strategy with the united front. North Korea has utilized the memory of solidarity between Korean Democratic Party and Young Friends Partiy whenever they stressed the necessity of inter-Korean solidarity or the left-right coalition. This study focuses on how the nationalist group s economic strategy could align with the socialist group. During the liberation period, the Korean Democratic Party shared socialist economic views. The history of economic movements during the Japanese colonial period and the tradition of the Pyong-an region s bourgeois formed. The bourgeois pursued ethical capitalist ideologies, based on Protestant doctrines like temperance, abstinence and diligence which were separate from modernization thoughts that included the tradition of landed gentry known as Yangban. This perspective was re-evaluated during the liberation period and provided the founding basis for coalition policies such as the employment of merchants and industrialists. The Young Friends Party promoted participatory religion and forged ties with the socialists through the tradition of national movement and doctrinal characteristics of Cheondogyo. The Young Friends Party s objective was to establish society with the economic virtue of Everything is Back to One(同歸一體) . Implementing this ideal, the Young Friends Party asserted the abolition of private property; providing an opportunity to build a coalition with the socialists.
