중국에서의 바슐라르와 상상력 연구 동향

국문 초록

편리함과 풍요로움의 시대를 살아가고 있는 현대인들은 역설적이게도 기계문명 및 자본 중심의 논리에 빠져 자연을 일상에서 제거하는가 하면 스스로 자신의 본성에도 위배되는 행동을 마다하지 않고 있다. 현대 프랑스의 사상가인 가스통 바슐라르는 일찍이 물, 불, 공기, 대지라는 4원소 개념을 통해 이러한 현대문명을 치유할 수 있는 상상력을 제시한 바 있고, 현대인들에게 진정한 자유와 해방의 길이 무엇인지를 안내하였다. 특히 바슐라르의 상상력이론에 반영된 윤리적이고 문명치유적인 견해는 반자연적·반인간적 기계문명에 중독되어 금전, 명예, 권력 등만을 가치로 여기며 팔방(八方)을 방랑하면서도 정적 귀속(歸屬)할 곳을 찾지 못하는 현대인들에게 중요한 메시지를 전달하고 있다. 본고에서 우리는 이러한 바슐라르의 사상이 중국에서 어떻게 수용되고 있는지 그 역사를 더듬어보고자 하며, 이를 체계적으로 정리하여 미래의 어떤 연구자가 다른 나라들에서의 바슐라르 연구와 이를 비교할 수 있도록 자료를 제공하는데 의의를 두고자 한다. 물론 중국에서의 바슐라르의 수용 역사는 아직 일천하고, 사상적으로 자유롭게 연구되고 있는 상황은 아니다. 하지만 1980년대 이후 바슐라르에 대한 연구는 몇몇 학자들에 의해 시도되고 있고, 그의 상상력의 철학과 과학철학이 나름대로 소개되는 기회도 늘고 있다. 이는 바슐라르의 사상에 중국 학계에서 판단할 때 앞으로 분명 기대되는 역할이 있기 때문 아니겠는가. 개혁개방 이후 중국은 본격적으로 서구식의 기술문명 위주의 사회로 치닫고 있다. 이로 인해 중국 경제는 고속 성장을 하고 있으나, 자연 환경 파괴 또한 이에 비례하여 자행되고 있다. 그리고 그 대가를 언젠가는 중국인 모두가 톡톡히 치르게 될 날이 올 것이다. 본고에서 우리가 바슐라르의 상상력이론을 그 범위를 축소시켜 현대문명 비판에 초점을 맞추어 조명하는 이유가 여기에 있다.

영문 초록

We Contemporaries paradoxically fall into the trap of the mechanical civilization and the logic of capitalism, and so have been driven out nature from our ordinary lives and have even badly behaved far from our own nature. Gaston Bachelard, a French thinker, suggested an idea of the four elements (water, fire, air and land). According to him. this idea can be a good way to solve the problem of the modern mechanical civilization. And he showed the contemporaries who are slaves to the mechanical civilization to a way of liberation and emancipation. His imagination of the unavaricious freedom could be an antidote to the contemporaries who are poisoned by the modern anti-natural and anti-human mechanical civilization and always thought about money, fame, social standing and the like, wandering around, nowhere to return. Due to the above reason, the idea of Gaston Bachelard has been spreading all over the world. Moreover it seems that a number of countries have accepted him because of their own necessary ground. Then, how has he been accepted in China? How has the study of him been conducted and in what direction will it go? By solving these questions, this study intends to give an understanding of the trends of the Gaston Bachelard study in China. This article is divided into three sections. The first part will look at China’s understanding and attitude towards Western philosophies seeing her modern history centering around the modern history of China.. The second part analyses the trends of the Gaston Bachelard study focusing on the academic magazines and papers, and discusses the characteristics as well as the limitations, depicted in the latter. and to discuss some features of the Gaston Bachelard study in China and the limitations. Finally, the conclusion part could be a message, which gives a necessity to the modern China.
