최근 세계 선물거래소시장의 신상품의 추이와 성공 상품의 특징

국문 초록

최근 4년 간 전 세계 선물거래소에 매년 146개 정도의 상품이 신규로 상장되었으며, 이 가운데 일 평균 1,000계약이상의 거래량을 유지하는 비율(성공비율)은 약 14%에 불과하였다. 미국거래소시장에서 2003년 이후 주가지수, 원유, 상품지수선물의 신규 상장이 두드러졌고, 이 가운데 미니지수상품, 에너지관련상품, 상품지수관련선물이 성공적인 것으로 조사됐다. CME의 E-mini Russell2000 선물의 경우, 사용자의 편리성, 현물지수의 변동성 및 유동성이 높았으며, 기존에 충분한 투자 계좌가 있었으므로 그에 따른 헤징 수요 창출이 용이했던 특징을 갖고 있다. 한국증권선물거래소(KRX)의 경우 Kospi200지수상품과 연관된 상품, 에너지 그리고 상품지수상품에 대한 집중적인 조사 연구가 필요할 것으로 사료된다.

영문 초록

1,162 futures and options has been listed and traded over the world futures exchange in 2004. The annual average number of newly listed products from 2001 to 2004 was about 146 and the 14%of them were successfully traded in the world futures exchanges. The criteria of successful contracts was that the daily trading volume should be greater than 1,000 contracts after its listing. Stock index, energy and commodity index products were mainly introduced in the world futures exchange market since 2003. Mini products, energy and commodity index products were successfully traded among them. In a case of successful products, E-mini Russell 2000 futures contracts was characterized by user friendly contracts specification, high index volatility, many investment account, and their sufficient hedging demand. Korea Exchange, Inc. should focus on the development of Volatility Index product being based on Kospi200 option, energy product and commodity index product
