도심 전기수(傳奇叟) 복원을 통한 실버문화 재생 및 도시인문콘텐츠 개발

국문 초록

이 글의 목적은 사라져가는 이야기문화의 복원과 사회적 문제인 실버세대의 문화 소외 현상 극복을 위한 도시인문콘텐츠 개발을 제안하는 것이다. 고령화 사회 속 실버세대는 문화 소외 계층으로 분류되어 문화적 활동에 대한 제약이 따르며, 사회적 참여에 있어서도 취약한 계층이다. 국가적으로 이들을 위한 문화정책을 실행하고 있지만 혜택을 받는 이들은 소수에 불과하다. 1990년대 중ㆍ후반까지만해도 서울 탑골공원에서 쉽게 노인들의 문화를 확인할 수 있었다. 도심 공원에 모인 노인들은 커뮤니티를 형성하고 그들만의 문화를 만들어갔다. 그 중 이야기문화는 실버문화의 대표였다. 이야기문화는 청중에게 인기가 있어 성행하였지만 탑골공원의 성역화 사업, 이야기꾼의 고령화 등의 이유로 사멸 위기에 있다. 탑골공원의 이야기판은 과거 조선 후기 장터거리에서 흔히 볼 수 있었던 전기수(傳奇叟)문화와 닮았다. 그 시기 장터거리에서의 고소설 낭독, 이야기꾼의 공연은 민간이 쉽게 향유할 수 있었던 문화였다. 탑골공원의 이야기문화가 자생적으로 형성된 것처럼 보이지만 과거부터 이어져 온 것이다. 여기서 실버문화를 재생할 수 있는 방안의 실마리를 찾을 수 있다. 여성노년층의 사회적 참여와 이야기문화를 활용한 성공적 사례인 ‘아름다운 이야기할머니’사업을 통해 ‘도심 전기수’라는 새로운 실버문화 모델을 제시하고자 한다. 이 모델은 노인의 문화 소외 현상 극복과 사회적 참여를 유도하며 그들이 향유하던 전통적 방식의 이야기문화 복원하는 기획이다. 광진구를 대상으로 설계한 시범 모델은 지역민의 로컬리스트 양성과 실버 문화의 재건, 도시인문콘텐츠의 개발에 기여할 수 있다.

영문 초록

The main purpose of this paper is to propose the restoration of a vanished story culture and the development of urban humanities contents to overcome the cultural alienation phenomena of the silver generation which is a social problem. The silver generation in an aging, as a group of people who are alienated from culture is subject to restriction on cultural activities and also vulnerable to social participation. Although cultural policies were implemented for them nationally, only a few of them benefited from them. In the mid and late-1990s, it was easy to see the culture of the elderly people at Tapgol Park in Seoul. The elderly people who are gathered in urban parks made some community and created their own culture. Of that, the story culture was a representative of Silver culture. The story culture was popular among the audience but it is in crisis of extinction because of the project of creating Tapgol Park as a sacred area and the ageing of storytellers. The story stage of the Tapgol park resembles Jeongisu culture which is commonly seen on the street market in the late Joseon Dynasty. In the past, reciting old tales and performing storytellers were easily enjoyed by the public in street market. The story culture of Tapgol park seems to have been established itself but it has been practiced on ever since the past. Here are some clues which are how to recreate Silver culture. On the basis of the “Beautiful Story Grandmother”, a successful example of social participation and storytelling of the elderly woman, “Urban Park Jeongisu” is going to be a new model. This paper plans to reconstruct the story culture of the specific their own traditional style with overcoming cultural alienation and encouraging social participation of the elderly people. Furthermore, it proposes the Gwangjin-gu district as a pilot model because that district has a variety of stories and infrastructure. There will be a great attempt to reconstruct the Silver culture and helpful to develop urban humanities contents.
