국문 초록

근대성의 가장 큰 특징 중 하나는 이성의 영역과 감성의 영역, 지식의 영역과 취미의 영역을 분리하고 철학과 문학/미학이 지닌 각각의 자율성을 구별하는 데 있다. 하지만 이러한 구분 역시 역사의 생산물이라는 점에서 이 구분의 결정론적 성질은 제거되어야 할 필요가 있다. 모든 위대한 작가는 문학과 철학의 조우를 경험하고 그 경험에 대해 남긴 ‘기록’ 즉 작품을 생산한다. 한국의 근대의 여명기와 황혼기의 정세(conjoncture) 아래에서 한용운과 김종한은 ‘문학과 철학의 조우’를 경험하고 문학적 철학 텍스트를 남겼다. 한용운은 ‘혁명가와 선승과 시인의 일체화’를 통해서 ‘통문예적’인 문학적 철학을 지성사의 과제로 남겼다. 김종한은 ‘불확실성에 대한 불확실성을 가중하는 개입’으로서 유행가요, 순수시, 아방가르드로의 이행의 경험을 통해 “말장난의 명상적 기능”으로서의 문학적 철학 텍스트를 지성사의 과제로 남겼다. 근대의 위기를 배태한 정세(들) 아래에서 이루어진 문학과 철학의 조우는 한국 근대 지성사의 풍요로운, 때로는 ‘위험한’ 과제로 남겨져 있다.

영문 초록

One of the greatest characters of modernity is drawing a distinction between reason and sense and between knowledge and taste. Under these distinctions each discipline-philosophy, literature, aesthetics-is to gain its autonomy. However, when it is taken into consideration that these distinctions are the products of history, we feel a need to lift some determinedness off them. All the great writers experience some convergence of literature and philosophy and the experieces mark their products, their works. In Korea at the conuncture of dawn and twilight of modernity Han Yong Woon and Kim Jong Han experienced the convergence of literature and philosophy and left the texts which could be in the boundary of the literary philosophy. Han aimed at the integration of a revolutionist, zen monk, and poet. The task he left for the history of the intellectualism is from Tongmunyje(통문예; going beyond the distinctions among disciplines) to reach after the literary philosophy. Kim embraced popular songs, pure poems, and transitional experience with avant garde in order for them to engage in increasing uncertainty about uncertainty. The literary philosophy in which playing with words also works as meditative function is the task he left in the history of the intellectualism. The convergence of literature and philosophy which happened at the conjuncture of modern crisis is left on us as a rich but risky task for understanding the modern history of Korean intellectualism.
