장애인지 감수성에 관한 탐색적 연구

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 포커스 집단면접을 통하여 장애인 당사자들이 일상생활에서 경험하는 차별사례를 통해서 비장애인들의 장애인지 감수성에 대해 탐색해보고 차별해소를 위한 방안들을 모색하는 것이다. 연구참여자는 지체, 시각, 청각장애인 7명을 선정하였는데 각각 지체장애 2명, 뇌병변장애 1명, 시각장애 2명, 청각장애 2명으로 구성되었으며 장애정도는 모두 심한 장애인으로 장애 문제를 설명할 수 있는 당사자들이다. 연구결과 일상생활에서 경험하는 차별사례들은 장애관련 호칭, 장애인에 대한 관심, 편의시설과 공공기관 이용, 장애인에 대한 차별적 태도와 행위, 그리고 장애인 대상의 에티켓 등에서 경험한 논의 주제들이 도출되었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 장애인지 감수성을 제고하기 위해서 첫째, 장애를 바르게 알고 긍정적으로 수용하도록 교육이 필요하며, 둘째, 장애인식개선 교육의 접근방법을 다양화하며, 셋째, 장애에 대해 상호 소통의 기회를 늘릴 필요가 있음을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to explore the susceptibility of disability of person without disability from discrimination cases experienced by person with disability in daily life through focus group interview. Participants in this study were 7 people with physical, visual, and hearing disabilities. They consisted of 2 physically impaired, 1 cerebral palsy, 2 visually impaired, and 2 hearing impaired. All of them are persons with severe disabilities who can explain their problems. As a result of the research, discrimination cases experienced in everyday life were discussed in the terms of disability terminology, concern for the disabled, access to facilities and public institutions, discriminatory attitudes and behaviors for the disabled, and etiquette for the disabled. Based on the result, we deduce 3 suggestions to improve the sensitivity of the disabled; 1) the education for persons without disabilities to recognize disability properly, 2) the diversification of the approach to the education of disability awareness improvement, 3) the expansion of opportunities for mutual communication.
