국문 초록

<운영전>은 운영과 김진사가 조선시대의 봉건적 사회체제를 뛰어넘지 못하고 비극적으로 사랑을 완결하는 소설이다. 이 작품은 인간의 궁극적 실존을 드러내면서 운영과 김진사의 사랑을 비극적 환희로 승화시키고 있다. 그들은 자신들의 운명을 내세의 운명으로 변형시켜 궁극적 사랑을 완성한다. 이 작품은 다른 고전소설작품들과 달리 독창적인 기법으로 비극적 환희로 재구성하는 창의성을 보여주고 있다. <운영전>은 주인공의 사랑의 감정과 내면의 고독을 시에 그대로 드러내면서 이를 극복할 공간을 시에 설정하여 현실세계에서 완성하지 못한 사랑의 완성을 비극적 환희로 확장시켜 노래하였다.

영문 초록

is a tragic novel featuring a relationship between Unyoung, a court lady of the Joseon Period, and Mr. Kim, a court official who could not overcome the feudal social system and order. They pursued their passionate love, but they killed themselves because they could not overcome institutional and conventional barriers. The story sublimed their love into tragic delight showing the ultimate reality for man. In , the writer described a conflict between Unyoung and an Official Kim, a plot and trickery of a person named Teukki, jealousy of an exorcist, and court ladies with diverse characteristics where their love, conflicts and sublimation were manifest frankly. This novel is characterized by a few distinctive characteristics through conflicts between characters: First, beyond social and ethical limits, people who love each other show their emotions frankly. Second, heroes’ love, internal feeling and solitude are expressed frankly and space to overcome these is made in the song where love is complete in tragic delight. Third, sorrow in reality is compared to a medium in poetry or configured into images where the selves of heroes are projected.
