국문 초록

전세계적으로 개별관광과 다목적지 관광이 증가하고 있으며 앞으로도 이러한 추세는 지속될 것으로 예상된다. 하지만 국내에서는 개별관광 및 다목적지 관광에 대한 연구는 다소 미흡한 상황이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 한국을 방문하는 ‘여가·위락·휴식’ 목적 개별관광객들을 대상으로 방문 광역지자체 수의 현황과 특성, 방문 광역지자체 수에 따른 한국 여행 만족도 등을 분석하였다. 본 연구의 분석에는 문화체육관광부의 「2018 외래관광객 실태조사」원자료 중 ‘여가·위락·휴식’ 목적의 개별관광객 자료(N=9,502)가 사용되었다. ‘여가·위락·휴식’ 목적 개별관광객들의 한국여행 특성(방한 횟수, 총 인원 수, 동반자 유형, 항공권 예약 시점, 1일 평균 지출액)에 따른 방문 광역지자체 수 차이 분석 결과 모든 항목에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 다음으로 방문 광역지자체 수에 따른 한국 여행 만족도 차이를 분석한 결과 여행경비 만족도 항목을 제외한 모든 항목에서 방문 광역지자체 수에 따라 한국 여행 만족도에 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 전반적으로 1개의 광역지자체만을 방문하는 개별관광객 집단보다 2개 이상의 광역지자체를 방문하는 집단의 한국 여행 만족도가 높은 결과가 도출되었다. 이러한 연구 결과에 기초하여 지역 관광 활성화를 위한 다음과 같은 시사점을 제시하였다. 한국 여행 만족도 제고를 위해서 방문 광역지자체 수를 증대시키는 것은 바람직한 정책이라 판단된다. 하지만 그동안 개별관광의 제약 요인이라 평가되던 대중교통은 본 연구 결과 제약요인으로 보기 어렵다는 결론을 도출하였다. 대중교통에 대한 다목적지 관광객들의 만족도가 단일 목적지 관광객보다 높게 나타났다. 이와 함께 재방문 개별관광객들의 다목적지관광 유도, 항공권 등을 예약하는 시점에서의 다양한 지역 관광 정보 제공, 다목적지 관광객들의 지출 증대 등에 대한 시사점을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

Individual travels and multi-destination travels are increasing worldwide, and this trend is expected to continue in the future. Therefore, this study analyzed the current status and characteristics of multi-destination travel and the satisfaction of Korea s travel according to multi-destination travel for individual tourists who are visiting Korea for leisure, amusement and relaxation. In the analysis of this study, individual tourist data(N=9,502) for the purpose of leisure, amusement, and relaxation were used in the raw data of the 「2018 International Visitor Survey」by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Analysis of differences in multi-destination travel characteristics(number of visited regions) according to the characteristics of individual tourists traveling to Korea(number of visits, total number of visitors, companion type, when to book a air-ticket, average daily spend) statistically significant differences were found in the items. As a result of analyzing the difference in the satisfaction level of travel in Korea according to the characteristics of multi-destination travel, it was found that there was a statistically significant difference in the satisfaction of travel in Korea according to the number of visiting regions in mostly items except the travel expense satisfaction. Overall, individual tourists who visited two or more regions were more satisfied with their travels than individual tourists who visited only one region. Based on these findings, implications for revitalizing multi-destination travel were suggested.
