일본의 대지진과 재일조선인 일본사회를 대상화하는 주체적인 목소리

국문 초록

본 논문은 근대일본에 대지진이 발생했을 때 일본사회를 대상화하여 재일조선인의 주체적인 의사표명과 비평이 나타난 재난시를 통시적으로 살펴본 것이다. 먼저, 1923년 간토대지진때 일어난 조선인 대학살을 비판하며 한일 프롤레타리아문학 연대를 이야기한 백철과, 학살된 사람들의 영혼의 목소리를 전후의 시점에서 불러내어 억압된 기억을 깨우려 한 윤민철의 시를 살펴보았다. 다음으로 재일조선인이 대지진의 피해를 많이 입은 1995년 한신·아와지대지진 때 간토대지진 당시처럼 조선인 학살도 일어나지 않았고 유언비어도 줄어든 달라진 일본사회의 모습을 보여주는 동시에, 그러나 아직 일본인과 재일조선인 사이에 가로놓인 경계를 안타까워하는 노진용의 시를 살펴보았다. 마지막으로 최근에 일어난 2011년 동일본대 지진이 일어난 때부터 쓴 시를 모아 7년이 지난 시점에서 시집으로 펴낸 김시종의 시를 통해, 희미해져 가는 재난의 기억을 다시 불러내어 공동체적 연대를 모색하고자 한 의미를 생각해 보았다. 일본에서 일어나는 재난은 일본인과 재일조선인이 같이 겪어내야 하기 때문에 재난의 피해와 극복을 둘러싸고 일본인과 재일조선인을 구별할 필요는 없다. 그러나 비대칭적인 권력관계 속에서 수난과 차별의 역사를 지내온 재일조선인의 재난에 대한 기억의 회로는 일본인과는 다른 문제가 얽혀 있음을 주의해야 한다. 동일본대지진의 희생자를 애도하는 김시종의 시에 재일조선인의 집단적 죽음에 대한 기억이 기저에서 반향하고 있음은 말할 것도 없다. 일본사회에서 마이너리티로 살아가는 재일조선인에게 대지진 같은 재난은 이중의 고난을 가져온다. 그렇기 때문에 ‘재난공동체’라는 말이 갖는 현실적 무게도 더할 수밖에 없다. 억압되고 봉인된 재난의 기억을 풀어내고, 공동체적 연대를 통해 상생의 길을 모색하고자 한 재일 조선인의 주체적인 목소리에 귀를 기울여야 할 때이다.

영문 초록

This study examines the great earthquakes of modern Japan, focusing on the independent voices of Zainichi Koreans, which reveal critical viewpoints toward Japanese society and appeals to the solidarity of the “Disaster Community.” First, there was the massacre of Koreans after the Great Kanto Earthquake in 1923. Baek Chul criticized it and at the same, proposed proletarian literary solidarity between the Japanese and Koreans. In the postwar years, Yun Min-chul addressed this Korean massacre. He gave voice to the massacred people and intended to awaken repressed memories. Secondly, the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake occurred in 1995, where many Zainichi Koreans died. Fortunately, there was no Korean massacre at this time. Instead, there appeared to be cooperation to overcome the disaster between the Japanese and Koreans. However, as the urgent situation became calm, there reappeared a divide between the two groups. Ro Jin-yong represented his memories of it in his poems. Later, the Great East Japan Earthquake occurred in 2011, whose restoration is currently underway. Kim Shi-jong published his collection of poems in 2018, which was after seven years after the earthquake. He is reminded of the memory of disaster and ponders what to do for the solidarity of community. It is said to be the very calling of his poetry. In Japanese society, Zainichi Koreans struggle to endure the double hardship of disaster and be in the position of the minority. It is time to listen carefully to the voices of Zainichi Koreans to take off their repressed and sealed memories of disaster and seek coexistence between the Japanese and Koreans.
