창업실패에대한 두려움이 창업의지에 미치는 영향에 관한 실증연구 - 창업가정신의 매개효과를 중심으로 -

국문 초록

본 연구는 선행연구를 통해 창업실패에대한 두려움을 다차원적으로 파악하고 세가지 하위개념들(재무적손실에대한 두려움, 심리적손실에대한 두려움, 경력손실에대한 두려움)이 창업의지와 창업가정신에 어떻게 영향을 미치는지, 그리고 창업실패에대한 두려움이 창업의지에 영향을 미치는 데 있어서 창업가정신이 매개적 역할을 하는 지를 실증적으로 연구하였다. 본 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 창업실패에대한 두려움과 창업의지와 관계에서 재무적손실에대한 두려움과 경력손실에대한 두려움이 창업의지에 부(-)의 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 반면, 심리적손실에대한 두려움은 직접적으로 유의한 영향을 주지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 창업에서 실패에대한 두려움 관련 연구들이 단일차원에서 보면 대체로 실패에대한 두려움이 창업의지에 부정적으로 영향을 미친다고 하는 결과와 비교할 때 창업실패관련 어떠한 두려움이냐에 따라 미치는 영향이 다를 수 있음을 보여준다. 둘째, 창업실패에대한 두려움과 창업가정신과 관계에서 경력손실에대한 두려움은 혁신성과 진취성에 부(-)의 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 재무적손실에대한 두려움은 위험 감수성에 부(-)의 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 창업실패에대한 두려움의 성격이 무엇이냐에 따라 창업가정신의 혁신성과 진취성, 위험감수성에 미치는 영향이 차이가 있음을 보여준다. 셋째, 창업가정신의 창업실패에대한 두려움과 창업의지간 매개역할에 대해 살펴보면, 혁신성과 진취성은 경력손실에대한 두려움과 창업의지 사이에 부분매개역할을 하는 것으로 나타났으며, 위험감수성은 재무적손실에대한 두려움과 창업의지 사이에 부분매개역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 통제변수중 학력이 창업의지에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났는데 석사·박사 고학력자가 고등학교 졸업자보다 창업의지가 높은 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

In this study, we investigated the fears of entrepreneurial failures in a multidimensional way and analyzed the three sub - concepts (fear of financial loss, fear of psychological loss, fear of career loss). we investigated whether the fear of entrepreneurial failure affects entrepreneurial intent and entrepreneurship. And also we studied on whether the entrepreneurship played a mediating role in the fear of entrepreneurial failure affecting the entrepreneurial intent. The results of this study are as follows. First, the fear of financial loss and the fear of career loss have a significant negative effect on the entrepreneurial intent in relation to the fear of entrepreneurial failure and entrepreneurial intent. On the other hand, fear of psychological loss did not have a significant effect. This suggests that the multidimentional fear of failure in entrepreneurship may have different effects on entrepreneurial intent comparing with the one-dimensional view that fear of failure negatively affects entrepreneurial intent. Second, the fear of career loss in relation to entrepreneurship have a negative effect on innovativeness and proactiveness. Fear of financial loss has a significant negative impact on risk-taking. The results of this study show that there is a difference in the effect of entrepreneurship(innovativeness, proactiveness, and risk-taking) depending on the natures of fear of entrepreneurial failure. Third, with regard to the mediating role of entrepreneurship innovativeness and proactiveness played a mediating role between fear of career loss and entrepreneurial intent. And The risk-taking played a mediating role between the fear of financial loss and entrepreneurial intent. Finally, among the control variables, educational attainment has a significant effect on the entrepreneurial intent. It has been found that higher education graduates(Master/Doctor) have higher willingness to start up than high school graduates.
