왕양명 심즉리설을 어떻게 이해할 것인가? 

국문 초록

본 논문은 양명학의 핵심 명제인 심즉리를 세 가지 방식으로 분류하여 종합적으로 고찰하였다. 바로 ‘龍場悟道’, ‘心便是理’, ‘心外無理’이다. ‘용장오도’는 왕양명이 심즉리를 깨닫는 그 상황 속으로 들어가 심즉리의 실존적 의미를 탐색해 보았다. ‘심 변시리’는 심이 리라는 의미에 입각하여 분석하였고, ‘심외무리’는 심 밖에 리가 없다는 의미를 중심으로 분석했다. 아울러 ‘심변시리’와 ‘심외무리’는 양명학의 도덕실 천을 강조하는 입장에서 ‘용장오도’는 양명학의 개성존중을 강조하는 입장에서 검토 했다. 본 연구는 왕양명의 심즉리를 종합적으로 이해하고자 하는 독자들에게 이해의 편의를 제공하며 양명학이 지니고 있는 도덕 실천을 강조하는 특징과 개성 존중을 강조하는 특징을 통일적으로 이해하는 데에도 기여하고자 한다.

영문 초록

It is generally understood that the three maxims of Yang-Ming Studies are Xin Ji Li (心卽理) , Zhi Xing He Yi (知行合一) , and Zhi Liang Zhi (致良知) . Of course, Fulfillment Innate Knowledge of Goodness (Zhi Liang Zhi) is a ultimate theory of Yangming Thought which is based on Xin Ji Li. In this sense, it is the starting point of Yangming thought when Wang proclaimed Xin Ji Li through Long Chang Wu Dao (龍場悟道) . Xin Ji Li can be understood by three dimensions, that is, Long Chang Wu Dao (龍場悟道) , Xin Bian Shi Li (心便是理) , and Xin Wai Wu Li (心外無理) : The first one of Long Chang Wu Dao (龍場悟道) : Wang himself realized that I can be a sage by cultivating myself through difficulty in Longchang. He pursued to be a sage from his early age. He finally understood how to be a sage in difficulty in Longchang. This enlightenment formed that everyone can be a sage, which is so called Wan Jie Sheng Ren (滿街聖人) . It has a tendency of respect individuality which is the trait of modernity, stressing on the ordinally person on the street. The second one of Xin Bian Shi Li (心便是理) : According to Zhuxi, Xing is Li, but Xin is Qi, not Li. It is the unchangeable in Zhu. However,Wang insists that Xing is Li, and Xin is Li too. Wang argued his idea using Four Beginings and Four Virtues in Mengzi, and he proclaimed that no Four Beingings, no Four Virtues. Afterwards, his disciple Ouyangde justified Wang’s idea by explaining Liang Zhi. The third on of Xin Wai Wu Li (心外無理) : Wang criticizes that Zhu’s cultivation theory of Ji Wu Qiong Li (卽物窮理) is less focusing on moral practice. Zhu divided mind and principle into two, so Zhu’s theory urges to pursue knowledge of objects. Zhu’s cultivation theory of Ji Wu Qiong Li (卽物窮理) opens the door toward knowledge oriented habits in literati, lacking moral practice. it has a tendency of moral oriented spirit while Wang focuses on the moral practice.
