국문 초록

본고는 일제강점기 지방음악사 연구의 활성화 일환으로, 당시 호남의 중심지였던 광주(光州) 전통음악계의 1920-30년대 공연 양상을 논하였다. 그 결과 당시 광주지역의 전통음악 연행 공간과, 광주권번, 광주풍류회, 조선성악연구회 등 전통음악단체의 공연에 대해 파악하였다. 또한, 한성태⋅박화섭⋅송만갑의 공연, 임방울의 내방 공연, 김석구 독창회 등 명창의 공연과, 광주 지역에서 개최된 전통음악과 서양음악의 혼성공연에 관한 이해가 가능했다. 본 연구를 계기로 일제강점기 광주 전통음악계의 양상과 지방음악사 연구에 깊은 관심과 논의가 이어지길 바란다

영문 초록

This article discusses the trend of performances of traditional music in the vicinity of Gwangju during the 1920-30s. The purpose is to further facilitate the study of regional music history during the Japanese colonial period when Gwangju was a central part of Honam. The study focused on performances by traditional music organizations with respect to the traditional music in the Gwangju region at the time, including an investigation of performance and practice space, the Gwangju Gwonbeon (a gisaeng cooperative), the Gwangju P ugnyuhoe (Amateur Performing Group for Korean Traditional Music), Choseon folk music theater, and others. In addition, this research provides a better understanding of the performances of Han Sung-tae, Park Hwa-seop, and Song Man-gap, the invitational performances of Im Bang-wol, the vocal recital performances of Kim Seok-gu and other master vocalists, as well as the mixed performances of traditional and Western music held in the Gwangju area. With this study as the foundation, it is hoped that a profound interest and discourse on the topic of traditional music in Gwangju and local music history during the Japanese colonial period will be engendered.
