영문 초록

This study was designed to provide perspectives on job creation for the young through urban farming. For the purpose of this study, the focus group interview was conducted with two groups which consisted of young urban farmers in order to obtain insights about the issue. The results revealed that even though national support policies for young farmers were lacked and they experienced difficulties participating in urban farming, farming itself was not only perceived physically demanding and unrewarding work, but also regarded as a promising industry with creating jobs by young farmers. In addition, they considered that agricultural support systems and educational programs should be set up to foster young farmers. However, young farmers intended to introduce new technologies such as drone, big data, LED system and smart farming system. Farming using new technology needs less labor than conventional farming. There was a contradiction between farming with new technologies and traditional farming in creating jobs.
