바울의 신학에 기초한 칼 바르트의 교회론

국문 초록

  칼 바르트(1886-1968)는 “변증법적 방식”(dialectical method)을 체계화 하여 “그리스도 중심주의 신학”(Christocentric theology)의 틀을 완성한 신학자이다. 또한 바르트는 비복음적인 자유주의 신학에 대항하며 말씀으로 계시되고 기록되어 선포되신 그 예수 그리스도 복음의 온전한 진리를 수호하고자 헌신했던 신학자였다. 일반적으로 바르트는 “신정통주의 신학자”(Neo-Orthodox Theologian) 또는 “복음주의 신학자.”(Evangelical Theologian) 로 알려져 있지만 그가 사도 바울의 신학에 지대한 영향을 받았을 뿐만 아니라 탁월한 성서 신학자라는 사실이 간과된 것이 사실이다.
  예를 들면 바르트는 그의 저서 Church Dogmatics(교회교의학)에서 구약은 4,648번 그리고 신약은 12,270번 인용하였다. 특별히 주목할 만한 사실은 신약의 12,270번 인용 중에서 사도 바울의 서신서 인용은 8,000번 이상이다. 갈라디아서, 에베소서, 그리고 고린도전후서들을 적극적으로 인용했고, 1919년 가을에 출판된 The Epistle to the Romans(로마서 주석)는 바울의 신학에 의존했던 바르트의 성서신학적 특징을 가장 대표적으로 표출하는 저서라 하겠다. 바울이 선포하고자 했던 하나님 나라의 주권, 예수 그리스도의 유일성, 그리고 성령님의 충만한 사역에 의존하는 교회들의 모습은 바르트의 교회론에서 쉽게 발견되는 신학적 논제들이다.
  그러므로 이 논문을 통해 사도 바울의 신학에 의존했던 칼 바르트의 교회론을 정리-분석하고자 한다. 특히 바르트의 교회존재 개념들을 정리-분석하므로, 바르트의 “그리스도 중심주의 사상”(the Christ-centred theology) 역시 사도 바울의 성서신학에 의존했음을 재확인 하고자 한다.

영문 초록

  Karl Barth(1886-1968) as a neo-orthodox theologian has been famous for his own theological principle of evangelicalism as well as dialectical method. However, his theological dependence upon the Apostle Paul"s biblical theology has been ignored by the most biblical and systematic theologians.
  For instance, Barth, in his own worldly well-known theological series entitled Church Dogmatics, has quoted the Apostle Paul"s Epistles more than 8,000 times among 12,270 quotations from the Old and the New Testament. As having particularly quoted Ephesians and the First and the Second Corinthians, Barth, in his own monograph entitled The Epistle to the Romans published in the Fall of 1919, attempts to represent his own theological dependence upon the Apostle Paul"s biblical theology. Here we witness that Barth"s doctrine of the Church is fully based on the Apostle Paul"s theological themes such as the sovereign Kingdom of God, the singularity of Jesus Christ as the only Saviour for the sinful humanity, and the Christian community"s dependence upon the awakening and quickening power of the Holy Spirit.
  Therefore, the primary purpose of this paper is to explore Karl Barth"s theological dependence upon the Apostle Paul"s biblical principle of Christocentrism.
