시편 9-10편에 나타난 민중의 저항 언어

국문 초록

  본고는 시편에 대한 사회-정치적(socio-political) 해석을 통하여, 시편 9-10편의 의미와 기능을 살펴보고자 한다. ‘사회-정치적 방법’은 성서 본문(text)과 상황(context)의 관계를 다음과 같이 설정한다. 첫째로, 성서 본문의 최종 형태를 받아들이는 것은 역사-비평을 배제하지 않는다. 오히려 성서연구는 사회-과학적 비판을 요구한다. 둘째로, 성서 본문은 사회 경제-정치적 현실에서 이루어진 것이다. 성서 본문의 종교적인 주장은 당면한 사회 현실을 반영하고 있다. 셋째로, 성서 본문은 사회 현실에서 발생하고 형성되며, 역으로 형성된 본문은 사회 현실에 영향을 미치며 새로운 사회관계를 창조하기도 한다. 이러한 세 가지 주장을 본 시편에 접근하는데 기본적인 방침으로 삼고자 한다. 이러한 관점에서 시편 9-10편의 사회적 및 정치적인 의미를 읽고자 한다.
  시편 9-10편은 찬양과 탄원으로 이루어진 하나의 탄원시편이다. 이 시편은 감사에서 애가로 움직인다. 독자는 형식을 넘어서 ‘소리’와 ‘관심’에 귀를 기울여야 한다. 이 시가 형성된 연대는 포로기나 포로기 이후 시대로 추정된다. 따라서 본 시편의 삶의 자리는 바빌로니아 제국으로부터 압제받는 유대 공동체가 거행한 제의이거나, 유대 사회에서 상류 계층으로부터 소외당한 하층 빈민 집단에서 거행된 예배이다. 고난의 현장에서 발생한 시편 9-10편은 ‘인습적인 사회 실재에 대한 저항’이고, 사회 구조악 및 지배 이데올로기에 대항하는 민중의 ‘안티-이데올로기’(anti-ideology)이다. 민중의 정치 행위로서의 시편은 저항 언어(counterspeech)와 저항 세력(counterpower)이라는 비상적인 행위이다.
  본 시편은 즉각적인 인과응보나 현실도피적인 종말론을 해결책으로 제시하지 않는다. 그 대신에 시인은 지금 여기서 하느님을 신뢰하는 ‘믿음’을 역설한다. 믿음으로 산다는 것은 하느님이 주도하는 오늘의 구원에 자발적으로 참여하는 것이다. 그것은 부조리에 저항하는 믿음이다. 시편에서 믿음은 찬양과 탄원으로 표현된다. 탄원은 하느님과 이스라엘 사이에 맺은 언약에 근거한다. 이 시편이 형성된 자리는 고난 받는 민중의 역사다. 시편의 실제적인 효과는 인습적인 이데올로기에 저항하고, 그리하여 새로운 사회적 관계를 창조하는 것이다. 억압의 구조에서 발생한 시편 9-10편은 인습적인 사회질서에 대한

영문 초록

  The aim of this paper is to explore the meaning and function of Psalms 9-10 by means of socio-political interpretation. A socio-political method explains the relation of texts and contexts as follows: First, the acceptance of the final form of the text does not preclude a social analysis of the text. Bible study positively requires the help of social science. Second, scriptural texts grow out socioeconomic-political realities. And they cannot be understood apart from those realities. Third, there are dialectical relations between texts and social realities. The text arises from the context, conversely the text creates contexts. From this point of view, we will read Psalms 9-10, and search for social and political meaning of them. And we will observe the function of psalms at that time.
  Psalms 9-10 are a confession joined with thanks and lament. The Psalm moves from thanks to complaint. However, our interpretation must move beyond form to ‘voice’ and to ‘interest.’ These Psalms date back to the Exile(587-539 <SUB>BCE</SUB>) or the Postexile(538-400). ‘Sitz im Leben’ of Psalms 9-10 was the cult of Israel. It was the cult of Jew who were oppressed by Babylonia, or the cult of the people of the lower classes in Jewish community. Psalms 9-10 which arise from the society of disorientation are a counter to conventional social reality. It is an anti-ideology against world which oppresses the poor by ruling ideology. It is a counterspeech and a counterpower against unrighteous society as political act.
  Psalms 9-10 does not present an instant causationism or an escape eschatology. But Psalm shows the faith that one must believe in God now and here. To live by faith is to participate in the salvation of God. It is the faith that counteracts against the absurd. The faith expresses thanks and lament.
