예언자적 지혜와 돌봄을 위한 부모교육

국문 초록

사회적 불평동의 심화와 정치적 불신풍조, 한국 교회의 비윤리적인 행태들로 인하여 부모세대에 대한 불신과 반감이 팽배해 있는 자녀들을 기독교 신앙으로 양육하는 일은 점점 어려운 일이 되고 있다. 기독교교육은 부모들이 기독교적인 가치와 신념에 근거하여 올바른 양육신념을 형성하고, 예언자들의 지혜와 돌봄에 대한 배움을 통해 성숙한 부모역할을 수행할 수 있도록 돕는 부모교육을 개발하는 것이 필요하다. 예언자들의 지혜와 돌봄의 특성에 대한 이해를 토대로 부모교육의 방향을 모색해 보면 다음의 네 가지 주요 과제를 생각해 볼 수 있다. 첫째, 부모교육은 부모들이 자녀들과 정의로운 관계를 형성하고 자녀들과 함께 올바른 선택과 행위를 만들어가는 정의로운 돌봄을 행 할 수 있도록 도와야 한다. 둘째, 부모교육은 부모들이 자녀들과의 공감적 대화와 연민의 행동을 통해 자녀들의 공감능력을 키워줄 수 있도록 도와야 한다. 셋째, 부모교육은 부모들이 소유욕과 탐욕을 버리고 단순한 삶이 주는 여유와 행복을 배우도록 돕고, 자녀들과 함께 지속가능한 미래를 만들어가도록 도와야 한다. 마지막으로, 부모교육은 부모들이 예언자들과 예수가 꿈꾸고 가르쳤던 하나님 나라의 비전을 배우고, 이를 통해 현실을 변혁할 힘을 얻는 예언자적 상상력을 자녀들과 더불어 키워가도록 도와야 한다.

영문 초록

Children of today have experienced political injustice, economic unequality, social immorality, and religious degeneration. They have been disappointed by their parent's generation and distrusted social beliefs, values, and systems. As a result of this great concern, parents need to be educated by more organized programs that specialize in parenting. Parent education means systematic and conceptual programs to impart information, awareness, and skills to parents on diverse aspects of parenting. Christian communities need to develop educational programs on parenting in order to help parents understand the goals and methods of Christian parenting, share their experiences, and develop their parenting skills. Parents' beliefs and values guide and influence their inter-actions with their children, and their children internalize these beliefs and values. Therefore, Christian parents need to critically evaluate their beliefs and values in the light of Christian beliefs and values. Christian parents can learn how to critically evaluate present social beliefs and values to develop an alternative vision for the future from prophetic tradition in the Bible. Christian parent education needs to provide systematic and long term programs to teach prophetic wisdom and caring to parents. First of all, parent education must teach prophetic wisdom about justice, help parents to criticize unjust social and religious order, and dedicate themselves for social and religious transformation. Second, parent education needs to help parents develop empathetic and compassionate ability and take care of their children and community. Third, parent education needs to teach parents how to free themselves from endless greed and possessiveness, live a simple life by emptying and sharing, and make a sustainable future for human beings and nature. Finally, parent education needs to evoke prophetic imagination for radical transformation and alternative visions.
