학생-교수 상호작용, 학생참여, 대학교육성과의 종단 구조 관계 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 대학생이 경험하는 교수와의 상호작용, 학문적 영역에서의 참여가 대학교육성과와 어떠한 구조적 관계를 가지는지 종단으로 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 학생-교수 상호작용을 대표 독립변수로 설정하 였고, 매개변수로 능동적 수업참여와 수업 관련 학업도전을, 종속변수로 학습성과와 대학만족을 설정하여 연구변수들 간 종단 구조 관계를 살펴보았다. 한국교육종단연구2005의 7차(2011년), 8차(2012년), 9차 (2014)년도 자료를 토대로 세 시점 모두 결측 없이 응답한 4년제 대학 학생 1,028명의 패널자료를 다변량 잠재성장모형 기법을 적용하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과 첫째, 학생-교수 상호작용, 수업참여, 학업도전, 학습성과, 대학만족은 시간경과에 따라 선형증가 하였고, 개인차가 발견되었다. 둘째, 학생-교수 상호작 용은 대학교육성과에 영향을 미치지만, 학생참여 요인이 함께 고려될 때에는 그 영향력이 줄어드는 경향을 나타냈다. 셋째, 대학생활 동안 학생들의 학문적 참여 활동은 학생-교수 상호작용과 대학교육성과 사이에서 간접효과를 나타냈다. 연구결과를 토대로 대학교육 현장에 필요한 정책적 시사점을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to analyze the longitudinal structural relationship of undergraduate students’ learning outcomes, college satisfaction, student-faculty interactions and student engagement(active participation in class, academic challenges). For this purpose, the panel data wascollected from 1028 undergraduate students who attended university in 2011, 2012 and 2014 by theKorean Education Longitudinal Study(KELS). An optimal variation model was established for each latent variable change over time. Then, to verify the relationship between learning experiences and educational outcomes at universities, a multivariate latent growth model was analyzed after combining each optimal variation model. The research results were as follows. First, undergraduate students’ learning experiences and educational outcomes both increased linearly over time, and individual differences were found. Second, student-faculty interactions had an effect on the learning outcomes and overallcollege satisfaction, yet when student engagement factors were considered together, the influence tended to decrease. Third, the indirect effect of student engagement, which mediated the relationship between student-faculty interaction, learning outcomes, and college satisfaction, was significant. The detailed results of the study were elaborated upon in the main text, and related policy implications and a follow up study were discussedas well.
