『한국사 』 교과서의 민족주의적 역사서술 분석 -고대사 부분의 서술내용을 중심으로-

국문 초록

이 글에서는 2009 교육과정에 의거한 2014년판 8종의 검인정 한국사 교과서를 검토하여 고대사 부분의 민족주의적 역사서술을 분석하였다. 요약하면 다음과 같다. 8종 교과서 공통의 지적사항으로는 사실관계의 오류, 균형이 잡히지 않은 서술, 최신 성과의 누락 또는 미반영을 들 수 있었다. 사실관계의 오류로는 노비의 수공업 생산, 장보고의 사망연대, 균형이 잡히지 않은 서술로는 한민족의 형성, 백제의 역사 편찬, 발해 유민의 고려 귀부, 최신 성과의 누락 또는 미반영으로는 고대국가, 백제의 멸망 원인, 아프라시압 벽화의 고구려 사신 등과 관련된 일련의 서술을 들 수 있었다. 이들 서술 중 상당수는 국정교과서 국사 의 서술을 그대로 계승한 것이라고 할 수 있었고, 일부는 심지어 국정교과서국사 보다 후퇴한 측면도 보였다. 민족주의적 서술로는 단일민족 형성과정의 강조, 연대 끌어올리기, 영역의 과장, 주변국가에 대한 잘못된 정보 등을 들 수 있었다. 단일민족 형성과정의 강조는 삼국통일과 민족형성의 문제, 연대 끌어올리기는 철제 농기구의 사용 시기, 고이왕대 정책들 중 6좌평의 설치, 영역의 과장은 고조선의 영역, 주변 국가에 대한 잘못된 정보는 7세기의 십자형 외교, 나당전쟁의 종료과정 등과 관련된 일련의 서술을 들 수 있었다. 이러한 민족주의적 서술에 대하여 공통적으로 지적할 수 있었던 것은 1990년대 이후의 연구성과가 충실히 반영되지 않아서 문제가 발생하거나, 민족주의적 관점에 따라 자국 중심으로 일면적인 서술을 함으로써 결과적으로 왜곡된 경우가 많았다.

영문 초록

In this article, eight Korean history textbooks published in 2014 were reviewed to analyze nationalistic narratives in ancient history sections. A summary is as follows. Common problems of eight textbooks include errors in facts, unbalanced descriptions, omission or non-application of the latest research results. Errors in facts include a series of descriptions related to the manual industry products by slaves, the period of Jang Bogo s death. Examples of unbalanced descriptions are the formation of the Han ethnic group, the compilation of Baekje history, and Balhae people s defection to Goryeo. Omission or nonapplication of the latest research results cases are the concept of the ancient state, the cause of Baekje destruction, and the envoys of Goguryeo in the murals of Afrasiab. Many of these descriptions followed those of the government-designated textbooks, and some even showed a retrogression from that textbooks. Nationalist narratives can be found in the overstatement on the formation process of single ethnic group, an earlier timeframe for historical events, territorial exaggeration, and misinformation on neighboring countries. The overstatement on the formation process of single ethnic group case includes descriptions related to the unification of Three Kingdoms and ethnic formation. An earlier timeframe for historical events include examples such as the timing of using iron farming tools and the establishment of a six-jwapyeong system during the King Goi’s reign. Territorial exaggeration appears in the territory of the Gojoseon part. Misinformation on neighboring countries includes descriptions related to the cross-strait diplomacy in the seventh century, and the ending process of the Silla-Tang War. Several aspects to point out in common about these nationalist narratives are that the problems have arisen because the research achievements since the 1990s have not been faithfully reflected, and the facts have been distorted as a result of one-sided narratives based on nationalistic viewpoints.
