영문 초록

National Merit Reward Policies are aimed not only at ensuring stable lifestyle for the National Meritorious Persons and their Bereaved families but also at broadening and deepening public awareness of their sacrifices and contribution to the motherland, which should be handed down to next generation. Thus, the National Merit Reward Policy carries on a highly symbolic function, maintaining and developing the nation and society through cultivating public spirit and national identity, and strengthening th ability of national security. The purpose of this study is to provide ways how to enhance public spirit and national unity through identifying realities and obstacles of them. After all, combining the efforts of all three sides of the National Merit Reward, the recipients of the national merit reward, the people, and the government, we can develop the spirit of sound national merit reward. The development of this spirit will make a shortcut to the national prosperity by enhancing communal ties and raising national spirit.
