영문 초록

This paper is about possible conflicts that would be caused during the consolidation processes of the administration districts between Yesan-gun and Honseong-gun in Chungcheongnam-do. The research methods used literature review and also employed both interviews and survey on the possible difficulties of administration district consolidation from local residents and related experts. The results showed that politicians and resident representatives must be active roles in resolving A conflict resolution of possible conflicts from the consolidation processes of the administration districts. And also there may be necessary of the support from the Central government and the transparency of the consolidation process. The results also showed more participation, information, and conflict management. This paper suggested that a residents-initiative forum, so-called Naepo Region Consolidation Committee - need to be introduced to open dialogue and discussion, to dissipate the effects of consolidation and its processes. This paper also suggests to hold forums, public hearings, and seminar that may increase not only public and expert participation.
