국문 초록

최근 들어 저금리와 세계 경제 변동성에 대응할 수 있는 대안으로 대체투자(Alternative Investment) 에 대한 관심이 집중되고 있다. 아시아 외환위기를 비롯해 글로벌 금융위기, 유로존위기 등 주기적인 거시경제 위기에도 대체투자 부문은 꾸준한 수익을 냈다. 글로벌 연기금의 행보와 문관하지 않게 국민연기금의 대체투자금액 및 비중도 꾸준히 상승하여 2016년 말 기준으로 대체투자 부분의 투자규모는 63조원으로 전체 적립금 중 11.4%를 차지하게 되었다. 고령화에 따라 금융자산축적이 급속히 증가하고 있으나 국내 경제성장률이 둔화되고 있으며, 예금금리도 1%대인 저금리 시대를 맞아 국내시장의 금융자산운용 기대수익률 하락으로 국민들의 노후 생활에 대한 불안감이 증대하고 있으며 대체 투자를 통한 수익률제고가 적극적으로 모색되고 있어 국민연금기금의 대체투자 비중이 지속적으로 확대될 전망이다. 국민연기금의 수익률을 높여야 급증하는 수급에 대응할 수 있고 또한 연금 고갈 시기를 늦출 수 있다. 따라서 본 논문은 연금의 대체투자 포트폴리오 분석을 통하여 국민연금의 투자다변화 및 대체투자 부문의 자산배분 효율성을 살펴보고 장기투자를 전제로 하는 대체투자 자산배분의 시사점을 도출하고자 한다.

영문 초록

Recently, attention has been focused on alternative investment as an alternative to low interest rate and global economic volatility. In the period of macroeconomic crisis, including the Asian financial crisis, the global financial crisis and the eurozone crisis, the alternative investment sector made steady profits. As a result of the global pension fund movements and the share of substitute investment in the pension funds, steadily rising, the investment amount of the alternative investment portion was 63 trillion won, accounting for 11.4% of the total reserve. Although the accumulation of financial assets is rapidly increasing due to the aging of society, the domestic economic growth rate is slowing down and the interest rate of the deposit is expected to fall to 1%. The proportion of alternative investments in the National Pension Fund is expected to increase steadily as the return on investment is being actively sought. If the yield of the national pension fund is raised, it can cope with the sudden increase in supply and demand, and the pension depletion period can be delayed. In this paper, we analyze the alternative investment portfolio of the pension system and examine the efficiency of the asset allocation in the alternative investment sector and draw out the implications of the alternative investment portfolio based on long - term investment.
