국문 초록

본 논문은 보조사상연구원의 30주년을 기념한 학술대회에서 발표한 논문으로서, 지난 30년간 본 연구원의 학술지인 󰡔보조사상󰡕에 발표된 보조의 선사상에 관한 연구동향을 분석하고 앞으로의 과제를 제시하였다. 본문에서는 1987년부터 1997년까지를 제1기로, 1998년부터 2007년 까지를 제2기로, 2008년부터 2017년까지를 제3기로 하여 편의상 세 시기로 나누고, 각 시기마다 󰡔보조사상󰡕에 발표된 보조의 선사상에 관한 논문을 대상으로 하여 논의를 전개하였다. 또한 각 시기마다 돈오점수(돈점논쟁), 간화선, 정혜쌍수(정혜결사), 선과 화엄과의 관계 등의 주제로 분류하여 이에 해당하는 논문의 내용과 특징을 분석하였다. 앞으로 보조사상연구원의 발전과 보조사상에 대한 연구의 활성화를 위하여 가장 중요한 일은 학문후속세대의 양성이라는 점과 각 분야의 주요과제를 제시하였다. 즉 ‘저술에 관한 연구’와 관련한 주요 과제로는 󰡔원돈성불론󰡕 과 󰡔간화결의론󰡕 및 󰡔화엄론절요󰡕에 대한 본격적인 논의가 이루어져야 하며, ‘선사상 및 체계에 관한 연구’의 주요 과제는 보조선의 전체적인 구조에 대한 본격적인 담론이 이루어져야 한다는 점을 제시하였다. 이외에도 돈오점수 및 돈점 논쟁에 관한 연구, 정혜쌍수 및 정혜결사에 관한 연구, 간화선에 관한 연구, 선과 화엄과의 관계에 대한 연구, 보조선의 영향에 관한 연구 등의 과제를 제시하였다.

영문 초록

This research paper is a published thesis in the commemorative academic conference for the 30th anniversary of Bojo Sasang research institute. I analyzed the research trend about Seon thought of Bojo Jinul during the past 30 years around the recorded content in Journal of Bojo Jinul and Buddhism and presented the future task. For convenience I classified into three periods in the text, the initial period from 1987 to 1997, the second period from 1998 to 2007, and the third period from 2008 to 2017. I developed discussion on the related papers about Bojo’s Seon thought published in Journal of Bojo Jinul and Buddhism per each period. And I classified subjects into Dono jeomsu(the controversy of sudden enlightenment and gradual cultivation), Ganhwaseon(Seon Observing Hwadu), Jeonghyea Ssangsu(the association of simultaneous cultivation of Samadhi and Prajna),and the relation with Seon and Huayan, etc. Then I analyzed the content and characteristics about the relevant papers. I proposed that the most important thing is to forster academic future generations for development of Bojo Sasang research institute and research activation about Bojo Thought. Then I suggested the main task of each field. In other words, the main task of ‘research on writing’ is to discuss about 󰡔 Wondon Seongbulron󰡕, 󰡔Ganhwa Gyeoleuiron󰡕 and 󰡔Hwaeomron Jeolyo󰡕, and also proposed to discuss about overall structure of Bojo Seon as the main task on ‘research about Seon thought and its system’ in earnest. Besides these, I suggested some tasks, research on Dono jeomsu as well as the controversy of sudden enlightenment and gradual cultivation, research on Jeonghyea Ssangsu as well as the association of simultaneous cultivation of Samadhi and Prajna, research on Ganhwaseon(Seon Observing Hwadu), research on the relation with Seon and Huayan, and research on the influence of Bojo Seon, ect.
