고조선의 歷史地理 비정에 대한 계보적 검토

국문 초록

본고의 목적은 고조선의 역사지리에 관한 논쟁 중 중심지와 서쪽 경계에 관한 문제에 대해 사료적 계보와 관련 해석에 대한 인식을 계통적으로 파악하는 것이다. 이를 위해 중국사서와 한국 전통시기 사서 및 문집에 나타난 인식을 바탕으로 전통사학자의 견해를 정리하였다. 또한 일제관변학자들에 의한 식민사학적 입장과 이에 대비된 방어적 민족주의 관점의 대척적 인식이 이후 고조선 연구에 어떻게 수용, 변화, 발전되었는가를 고고학적 성과와 연결지어 살펴보았다. 이를 통해 최근 되풀이 되고 있는 고조선의 위치비정 논쟁을 한 걸음 진척시키고자 하였다.

영문 초록

The goal of this study is a systematic understanding of the bibliographic genealogy and interpretations related to the location of the capital and western border of Old Chosun, which are issues of debate in the historical geography of that polity. To this end I examine the views of historians of traditional China and Korea through historical records and commentaries in such works as Shiji 史記, Hanshu 漢書, Samgukyusa 三國遺事, Tongsagangmok 東史綱目(by An Chongbok), Yeyudangchonsye 與猶堂全書(by Chong Yagyong), and others. Further I discuss the colonial historical perspective of influential Japanese historians and the responses to them from the defensive nationalist perspective, and I analyze relevant archaeological achievements in terms of how they were accepted, changed, and developed in the research on Old Chosun. I attempt through this study to make a contribution to the recent ongoing debates on the location of Old Chosun.
