신학의 학문성 추구에 대한 고찰

국문 초록

바빙크는 보편성의 추구를 통해 분리주의를 극복하고 신학의 학문성을 모색하였다. 그는 신학은 단지 모사에 불과하다고 주장했다. 바빙크에게 하나님 찬양이 전제되지 않은 학문은 신학이 아니다. 그는 삼위일체 신비에 대해 인간의 한계를 겸손히 고백하면서도 신학의 학문성을 추구한다. 이러한 신학 방법론과 보편성의 강조는 현대와 같은 세계화의 시대에 큰 의미를 지니고 있다. 이러한 점에서 바빙크의 신학은 모사신학에 기반을 둔 삼위 하나님을 향한 송영의 신학이라고 말할 수 있다. 판넨베르크는 신학의 학문성을 주장하는 보편성의 근거를 ‘모든 것을 규정하는 현실로서의 하나님’에 두고 있다. 그가 신학의 보편성을 추구하는 이유는 신학이 이성과 역사를 거부함으로써 신학이 타학문으로부터 고립되지 않기 위해서다. 그는 유비 개념을 비판하면서 유비 대신에 송영의 개념을 제안한다. 그에게 송영적 진술은 “찬양의 행위”이다. 그러나 그의 신학체계 안에서 송영의 언어는 진리에 대한 회의주의로 귀결될 수밖에 없다. 이를 테면, 그의 송영에 대한 주장은 그의 신학 방법의 전제들과 상충되고 있다. 그는 예수 부활의 확실성은 역사적 연구를 통해 주어질 수 있다고 주장한다. 그러나 그의 성령론을 통한 보편성의 주장은 종말론적 만유재신론의 성격을 나타내고 있다. 또한 그의 송영적 진술은 역사의 예기된 미래에 의존하고 있으므로 진리의 현재성이 간과되고 있기 때문이다. 더욱이 송영은 구속사의 큰일에 대한 당연한 결과이다. 그러므로 판넨베르크의 송영의 개념은 구속사적 모형 유비의 관점에서 재진술될 필요가 있다. 이런 점에서 구속사적 모형 유비를 기반으로 하지 않는 송영은 불가지론에 빠질 수 있음을 명확히 할 필요가 있다. 따라서 구속사적 모형 유비는 우리의 인식 능력의 한계와 인간 언어가 지닌 근본적인 제약성을 지적하면서도 신앙의 역사적 기반과 신학의 학문적 기초를 마련할 수 있는 좋은 수단이 될 것이다.

영문 초록

Herman Bavinck tried to overcome separatism and seek a scientific basis of theology through the pursuit of universality. He insisted that theology is only theologia ectypa. It is not a theology for Bavinck not to be premised on the prasise of God. In pursuit of a scientic basis of theology, he humbly confessed the limits of humanity about the trinity mystery. In the era of globalization like modern times, Bavinck’s theological methodology and emphasis on universality has significant implications. In this sense, Bavinck’s theology is based on theologia ectypa, and can be said to be theology of Doxology toward triune God. Wolfhart Pannenberg put universality claiming the a scientific basis of theology in “God as a reality that defines everything”. The reason why he pursued the universality of theology is in that theology rejects reason and historicity so that it is alienated from other scientic fields. Therefore he carried out research on the concept of analogy. While criticizing this concept, he had selected the concept of doxology for his theological program. Doxology is merely an “act of worship” and is not a scientific language. But Christologically speaking, Pannenberg claims the certainty of Jesus’ resurrection should be proved by historical studies. However, his claim of universality in Holy Spirit shows the nature of eschatological panentheism. Also, because doxology depends on the anticipated future of history, the present state of truth is overlooked. Moreover, doxology is a natural result of a wonderful redemptive history. Also, the present state of truth is overlooked. Therefore, it raises a skepticism regarding its truth in his decision to choose doxology in place of analogy. Consequently, there is no theological room left for him to utilize the analogy of being in his effort to guarantee the historicity of Jesus’ resurrection. In this essay, instead, it is suggested that there is a remptive typological analogy as an evidence for the historicity. Therefore, when we try to describe God in our theological language, a redemptive typological is a good means to provide a foundation for the historicity of a scientific basis in our theological discussion.
