奎章閣所藏冊板의 내용과 소장처 분석

국문 초록

규장각에는 조선후기에 제작된 책판 104종 17,828장이 소장되어 있다. 사부(四部)로 분류하면 경부(經部) 54종 12,119장, 사부(史部) 21종 3,902장, 자부(子部) 17종 1,143장, 집부(集部) 12종 664장이다. 조선후기 대표적인 사서삼경 책판으로는 내각장판(內閣藏板), 영영장판(嶺營藏板), 영변부책판(寧邊府冊板)을 꼽을 수 있는데, 현재 규장각에는 이들 책판이 각 1질씩 모두 3질 남아있다. 이를 통해 19세기 전반 사서삼경 간행사업이 활발하게 진행된 사실과 주희(朱熹) 중심의독서를 통한 성리학 편중 등 조선 후기 사상계의 면모를 확인할 수 있다. 춘방장판(春坊藏板)은 19세기 후반 세자 교육을 담당한 시강원에서 강학용 학습서까지 제작했다는 사실과 그 교재의 내용 등 시강원의 서적 출판기능에 대한 단서를 제공한다. 교서관책판(校書館冊板)은 18세기 후반 영조 어제류 간행 대상과 책판 보관처 등 어제류 관리에대한 직접적인 정보 외에도 어제류 제작의 배경과 활용 등 그 정치적 의미를 파악하는데 도 움을 준다. 결국 이를 통해 당시 책판 제작의 목적이 국왕관련자료의 현창 보급뿐 아니라 세자 교육이나 왕권 강화 등 통치수단으로까지 확대되어 활용되는 면모를 확인할 수 있다.

영문 초록

The Kyujanggak has 104 kinds of 17,828 printing woodblocks engraved in the late Choson Dynasty. By their type, the woodblocks are assorted into 4 groups(四部)－54 kinds of 12,119 for Gyeongbu(經部), 21 kinds of 3,902 for Sabu(史部), 17 kinds of 1,143 for Jabu(子部), and 12 kinds of 664 for Jipbu(集部). Among those woodblocks, Negakjangpan(內閣藏板), Youngyoungjangpan(嶺營藏板), and Youngbyunbu woodblocks(寧邊府冊板) are representatives of the Three Confucian Classics(三經) and the Four Books(四書) in the late Choson Dynasty, and The Kyujanggak has one set for each, three sets in total. What this shows is that the publication of the Three Confucian Classics(三經) and the Four Books(四書) in the early 19th century was quite active and that the realm of ideas was limited to the Neo-Confucianism, which emphasizes the reading based on the explanations of Zhu Xi(朱熹). And Chunbangjangpan(春坊藏板) let us know the fact that Sikangwon(侍講院), which was responsible for education of crown prince, produced educational books as well. The contents of the book is for education of crown prince and it provides us a clue to the publishing function of Sikangwon(侍講院). Also, Gyoseogwan woodblocks(校書館冊板) gives us a direct information with regard to the management of King Youngjo’s Eojae(英祖 御製), such as the target of its publication and the storage place of its woodblocks in the late 18th century. Furthermore, it helps us to figure out its political significance by its background in production and use. In the end, we can see that the purpose of producing woodblocks at that time was not only limited to the supply of dossiers on king but also extended to the means of ruling, such as the education of crown prince and strengthening of royal authority.
