강점기반 진로상담 프로그램이 초등학생의 진로성숙도와 성취동기에 미치는 효과

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 강점기반 진로상담 프로그램이 초등학교 6학년 학생들의 진로성숙도와 성취동기에 미치는 효과를 검증하였다. 진로상담의 영역에서 초등학교 학생들에게 요구되는 개인⋅사회적 발달을 위하여 강점 분류 체계에 따른 24개의 강점 가운데 신중함, 개방성, 사회지능, 자기조절의 계발에 중점을 두었고, 교육성취 및 진로관리 능력의 발달을 위해서는 학구열, 호기심, 통합성, 용감성, 시민의식의 계발을 중심으로 프로그램을 구안하였다. 프로그램의 효과검증을 위하여 경기도 하남시 소재 1개 초등학교 6학년 2개 학급을 임의로 선정하여 실험집단과 통제집단으로 각각 1개 학급씩 할당하였다. 실험집단에는 5주 동안 매주 2회 50분 씩 총 10회기의 프로그램을 실시한 반면, 통제집단은 아무런 처치를 하지 않았다. 프로그램 실시 전, 두 집단에 대해 진로 성숙도와 성취동기에 대한 사전검사를, 프로그램 종료 직후 사후검사를 실시하였다. 자료 분석은 혼합변량분석(Mixed ANOVA)과 t-검증을 실시하였고, 양적 결과에 대한 보완을 위해 과정분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 실험집단 학생들의 진로성숙도와 성취 동기가 부분적으로 유의하게 향상된 것으로 나타났다(p < .05). 이 결과는 강점에 기반한 초등학생들의 진로상담 프로그램이 초등학교 학생들의 진로성숙도를 높이는 한편, 성취동기를 고양시키는데 효과가 있었음을 나타낸다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of a strengths-based career counseling program on elementary school children s career maturity and achievement motivation. This program was designed to emphasize prudence, open-mindedness, social intelligence, self-regulation of 24 strengths based on VIA(Values-In-Action) in the personal and social development area of elementary school career education. It was designed to emphasize love of learning, curiosity, integrity, bravery, citizenship in the Educational Achievement and Career Management area. In order to test the effects of this program, we selected two 6th grade classes from an elementary school, Hanam, Gyeonggi-Do. We assigned a class to be the comparative group, who did not participate in the strengths-based career counseling program, and the other class to be the experimental group, who participated in the strengths-based career counseling program. The program was implemented twice a week during 5 weeks, a total of 10 sessions(50 minutes per session) for the only experimental group. Before the beginning the program, we conducted The Career Maturity Test and The Achievement Motivation Test on both groups. After completing the program, we once again conducted the tests on both groups. We operated a Mixed ANOVA and t-tests to analyze the data, and conducted process analysis to making up the quantitative results. As a result of this study, there were statistically significant differences in career maturity and achievement motivation of the experimental group (p < .05). In conclusion, it was turned out the strengths-based career counseling program produced a positive effect in enhancing the elementary school children s career maturity and achievement motivation.
