국문 초록

최근 미디어의 발전과 ICT 환경의 변화 속에서 모든 분야의 산업들이 빠르게 진화하고 있는 상황이다. 출판시장도 예외는 아니며, 전자책 (eBook)에 대한 관심과 수요도 매년 빠르게 증가하고 있다. 읽을 만한 컨텐츠에 대한 사용자의 니즈(needs)는 계속해서 증가되고 있으며 이를 해갈하기 위한 서비스와 환경도 계속해서 발 전되고 있다. 사용자들의 소비 패턴도 소유(所有)에서 소비(消費)의 형태로 바뀌고 있다. 뿐만 아니라, 컨텐츠를 소비하면서 생산까지 하는 참여형 소비자인 ‘프로슈머(prosumer)’의 형태에서, 즐겁게 쇼핑하는 형태의 펀핑(fun-pping)을 원하는 즐기는 소비자인 ‘플레이슈머(playsumer)’로 진화하고 있다. 다양한 스마트 디바이스들이 대중화 되면서 전자 책의 파일 포맷도 발전해 나가고 있다. 단순한 텍스트만을 지원하는 형태에서 멀티미디어(동영상, 애니메이션 등) 요소들과 인터렉티브(interactive) 기능 추가로 리치 미디어(rich-media)이 가능한 형태로 말이다. 최근 국내.외에서 전자책의 표준 포맷으로 자리매김해 나가고 있는 파일 포맷이 바로 ePub인데, 본 논문에서는 이 ePub의 적용현 황과 향후 전자출판에 미칠 요소들을 예측해 봄 으로써 다가올 가까운 전자출판 시장의 변화를 예측하고 대응책을 마련하고자 한다.

영문 초록

Speaking of which, as recent developing in media and ICT environment, all relevant fields of industry are in progress including printing market. Thus, interest and demand for eBook are increasing as well as the needs of readers for the good reading contents. In order to resolve the circumstances, service and environment are progressive as well. As matter of fact, the major patterns of the reading style has been changing from possession to consumption . Furthermore, the changing effects prosumer , a type of participant consumer who consume and produce contents, to playsumer , a type of fun-pping consumer who prefer fun shopping. As diverse smart devices get popular, the file format of eBook is progressive as well. For instance, from simply text comprised format to rich-media which enables added interactive feature and multi-media (video, animation, etc,) compatibility. In recent, ePub has been dominating as standard format of eBook in the digital industry. This paper would provide a proper counterplan by introducing analysis of ePub applications and anticipating the effects from upcoming changes of digital printing industry.
