국문 초록

본 연구는 인천광역시 사립 작은도서관의 운영 현황을 살펴보고 발전 방안을 제시하고자 2024년 1월 28일부터 2월 8일까지 총 22곳을 대상으로 하여 전문가 그룹 인터뷰를 실시하였다. 연구 결과 첫째, 응답자들은 주로 지역 주민들의 여가 활용 공간을 확대하고자 작은도서관을 설립한 경우가 많았다. 둘째, 도서관 운영의 만족에 대해서는 보통 수준이었으나 지원 예산과 운영 인력의 부족, 지역 주민의 이용률 저조에 대한 고민이 깊었다. 셋째, 대부분의 응답자들은 작은도서관의 가장 큰 기능은 지역 주민의 독서 문화 진흥에 기여하는 것이라고 하였고, 현재 운영하고 있는 작은도서관에서 우선시하고 있는 기능으로는 지역 주민들의 독서 문화 증진이 가장 많이 나타났으며 다양한 독서 관련 프로그램을 운영하고 있었다. 넷째, 정부기관 및 지자체로부터 받은 지원 유형은 장서 지원이 가장 많았으며, 작은도서관의 지속적인 운영을 위하여 필요로 하는 것은 지자체의 지원 예산의 확대였다, 다섯째, 작은도서관의 운영이 지역 주민들의 모임 장소 제공을 위한 곳으로 운영되기를 바란다는 의견이 많았다.

영문 초록

This study examined the operation status of private small libraries in Incheon Metropolitan City and suggested development plans, and a total of 22 expert group interviews were conducted from January 28 to February 8, 2024. As a result of the study, first, the respondents often established small libraries to expand the leisure space of local residents. Second, although the satisfaction level of the library operation was moderate, there were deep concerns about the lack of support budget, operating manpower, and the low usage rate of local residents. Third, most of the respondents said that the biggest function of the small library is to contribute to the promotion of the reading culture of local residents, and the most important function of the current small library is to promote the reading culture of local residents, and various reading-related programs are operated. Fourth, the type of support received from government agencies and local governments was the largest amount of support for collections, and what was needed for the continued operation of small libraries was the expansion of the support budget of local governments, and fifth, there were many opinions that they hoped that the operation of small libraries would be operated as a place to provide a gathering place for local residents.
